Roz didn't react.
His expression remained cold as the air beside him twisted unnaturally. Shadows gathered, thick and heavy, as if reality itself was being pulled apart. Dark particles seeped into the space, swirling and compressing until something began to take shape.
First came the limbs.
Long, slender arms formed out of darkness, followed by a narrow torso. Then legs, smooth and unnervingly still. Finally, a head emerged.
A woman stood beside Roz.
Her skin was dark, almost pitch-black, as if it absorbed all light. She wore a maid's uniform—clean, pristine, and completely out of place in the ruined library. Instead of eyes, black buttons sat sewn into her face. Her mouth was sealed shut with thick black stitches.
It was one of the special monsters from The Mad Lab.
