"Leo, are we a couple?"
Ren, Leonel, and Ragnar all froze at the same time, their eyes snapping toward Isolde as if she had just dropped a bomb in the middle of the party.
Leonel blinked once. Then twice.
"Y-yeah?" he answered, his voice unsure and thin.
If he said no, he might hurt Isolde's feelings. Worse, her family might actually come after him. Saying yes felt safer—less dangerous to his physical health.
Even so, Leonel frowned in confusion. "Why do you ask?" he added. He was certain she already knew. Hadn't everyone been acting like they were together? Didn't she… like him?
It was Isolde's turn to stare.
"Eh?" Her brows knitted together. "We are?"
Her mind scrambled. Had Leonel told people they were dating? Had he ever asked her out? She searched her memory and found nothing clear. There was no confession, no official start—just time spent together, laughter, teamwork in the game.
Her heart began to beat faster.
