After a full day passed in the game, Yuji's group, along with Ren, finally set out toward Frosty Cave.
The mood was already tense before they even reached the forest. As Ren expected, several members kept their distance from him. They didn't hide it—they were wary, uncomfortable, even irritated. That was normal.
No one liked being ordered around by a stranger, especially someone from another guild. And in a high-ranking guild like White Unicorns, pride was thicker than armor.
Even though Eric had assigned Ren as the temporary leader for the dungeon, it was Yuji who gave out the orders. His unit followed him without hesitation, ignoring Ren as naturally as breathing.
They didn't even include him in their strategy talk.
Ren didn't mind. He never joined guilds and he wasn't here to build friendships. His job was to clear the dungeon, nothing more. Whether they listened now or later didn't matter, because the dungeon would force them to listen to him eventually.
