In Kalibo Forest, not far from the human settlement, Isolde and Leonel moved quietly alongside members of the Clawing Talons guild. They were deep in the middle of hunting a Hidden Boss, one that only appeared after the last traces of daylight were swallowed by darkness.
They set out the moment night fell. Hidden Bosses were fickle creatures, bound by strange rules. This one only revealed itself when the forest was wrapped in shadows and the wind carried the cold breath of midnight.
The jungle around them was nearly silent.
A small brackish stream flowed beside their path, releasing a cool scent of water mixed with the rich odor of decaying leaves. Because the night was so still, even the faint splash of the stream echoed gently. Tiny forest creatures darted from tree to tree, their movements creating faint blurs in the darkness.
