"You want to buy another house?" Helen and Troy asked at the same time, both wide-eyed with their jaws practically on the floor.
"But we already have a house," Helen added, still unable to process it.
Ren nodded confidently. "I want to expand my investment portfolio by owning more real estate. It's a foolproof investment. Property values almost never drop."
He leaned back, speaking calmly but with certainty. "Besides… I don't want to start a family on top of a skyscraper. A house and lot is still the best. Probably with a wide lawn or garden."
Troy slowly nodded. "That makes sense," he admitted. "But you could also buy a single-family home. It's a lot cheaper than a full house and lot."
Ren shook his head immediately. "A single-family home won't be enough when I start building a family. I was an only child so I know how that feels. I want… a lot of kids."
Helen's eyes sparkled immediately, but she held her tongue.
