"Ren! You meanie!" Alice stormed toward him the moment her feet touched the ground, jabbing a finger straight into his chest. "Why didn't you help me? I could have died!"
Her head was finally attached back on her neck, though it wobbled slightly when she moved too fast. With her pale skin and faint glow, she looked like someone who had already died three times and was still denying it.
"Who is she?" Isolde asked, eyes narrowing as she took in Alice from top to bottom.
Alice spun toward Isolde and gave a deep curtsy—this time pressing both hands on her head just in case it fell off again. "My name's Alice. Nice to meet you…?"
"Isolde."
"Isolde! A pleasure." Alice grinned widely. "I'm Ren's new maid. I'll be helping him around in exchange for freeing me."
Isolde slowly turned to Ren, her stare asking one big question: Seriously?
Ren answered the entire question with the shortest explanation possible. "I saved her in one of the rooms. She's a ghost maid. She can clean our HQ."
