For a long time, everything they discovered was harmless. They opened doors to odd but peaceful realms—such as the elemental plane of salt, red wine, and wheat. These brought them luxury, fame, and plenty of food. Their tower became a place of comfort and celebration.
But curiosity eventually turned to greed.
And greed made them reckless.
They wanted more. More unusual planes. More power. More secrets. The desire to uncover something grander blinded them.
