Orakh didn't know what to make of their current situation. They had just stepped into one of the Apex Domains in the Great Valley—a place the clan had vowed never to enter. If Sharina ever found out about this, she would have his head on a spike.
Orakh rubbed his temples and groaned inwardly. Why was Draki so stubborn today of all days?
But he had no choice. Draki was the Chieftain's son, and letting him go alone would be even worse. So with a deep breath, Orakh barked orders to the others. "Stay close. Don't wander off. The jungle here is alive—touch nothing unless you want to lose a hand."
Evie and Ragnar both turned toward Ren, their eyes asking silently if he really planned to follow.
Ren's answer was short. "Let's go."
When he started walking, they followed without complaint. Resistance was pointless now.
