Looking at her reflection, Saya barely recognized the woman staring back. Without makeup, her skin looked pale—almost ghostly—and a faint sheen of sweat clung to her forehead. Her cheekbones stood out too sharply, and her lips had lost their usual color.
Her eyes, once lively and full of sparkle, now seemed dull—like the light inside them was fading away.
She looked tired.
She looked sick.
Saya exhaled shakily, pressing both palms on the edge of the sink as she leaned forward. Her body felt heavy, like every movement drained the last of her strength.
Being in Black Lion, following Mike around, constantly grinding, competing, and pretending everything was fine—it was exhausting.
They no longer went on dates. No more fancy restaurants, shopping sprees, or late-night movies. Their "quality time" had turned into endless raids and tournaments.
Mike lived and breathed the game. And she? She just followed.
