While Ren was lost in thought, Leonel squirmed in place. His beard twitched. "Uh… why is everyone staring at us?"
"It's because we're the only guild with six members," Roxy said flatly. "They feel threatened."
"Six?" Leonel blinked and counted. One, two, three, four, five— "Oh. You're still alive." He pointed at their Thief. "That's… good."
Their Thief's smile faltered. They didn't even notice I was here?! He swallowed the sting and pretended to adjust his dagger, fighting back imaginary tears.
Sumeri crossed her arms and leaned closer to Ren. "So you even know Isolde Gambino?"
"It's only right in our line of work," Ren said evenly.
"Yeah, but knowing Silvia, Ragnar, and Isolde?" Sumeri gave him a half-grin. "You sure know your target clients."
Ren's lips twitched. "It's called building connections. They're future clients."
Sumeri chuckled under her breath. "Isolde's a charming woman, huh?"
"She's also pretty cool."
