Discontent echoed through the arena, clashing with the roll of thunder overhead. Players shouted, cursed, and complained, their voices overlapping in confusion and anger.
Ren, however, stayed calm. He had heard this all before — the whining, the outrage, the disbelief. It was always the same. In the end, people complained about the rules but still followed them. They had no choice.
From the very beginning, nothing about the "Guild War" said it would be a straightforward fight. Fighting for Victory didn't mean guild versus guild. It could mean anything — a survival match, a puzzle, or a test of endurance.
That was the trick. The real war started before the first swing of a blade — in the planning stage, when you chose your lineup.
This was the developers' way of teaching them that.
