Ren almost covered Nikolai's mouth with his hand, but that would have made things even more suspicious. The words hung in the air like a sudden chill, and everyone's eyes slowly turned to him.
"The Ren you know?" Leonel asked, raising a brow in confusion.
Sumeri let out a small laugh to ease the tension. "Ah, he's talking about a player he met in the game," she explained. Then she turned to Silvia. "In fact, you were with him that time."
Silvia blinked. "You mean Ren—the one in a hood with a pet?"
Nikolai's head bobbed up and down so fast it was almost comical. "Yes! That's him!"
The atmosphere shifted. Silvia turned to Ren, her sharp eyes locking onto his.
Ren held her gaze without flinching, his face calm and unreadable. But beneath the table, his hand clenched slightly. A small bead of sweat rolled down the back of his neck.
