Roni was all smiles when Ren opened the door, but Ren immediately sensed something off. The twitching of Roni's hands and the sheen of sweat across his forehead gave him away. He was nervous. And in Ren's experience, when Roni was nervous, it usually meant only one thing—he was about to ask for something.
Ren's shoulders stiffened. Was it money again?
He was already prepared to refuse before Roni could even open his mouth. But to his surprise, the word that came out wasn't about borrowing cash. It was something entirely different—something that caught Ren off guard.
"Ren," Roni started, trying to keep his voice casual, "by any chance… do you have a Pod? I heard from my classmates that they saw you inside COVENANT."
Ren raised a brow but didn't bother asking who those "classmates" were. It wasn't impossible that someone had recognized him in the game. Sooner or later, it was bound to happen. And frankly, he didn't care.
