Ragnar's smile fell right off his face. "Why me?" Did he have a grudge against me or something?
That question hit him harder than he expected. A strange déjà vu pricked the back of his mind. Another player named Ren, in another dungeon, once told him the same thing before leaving him to die in Gargantuan Cave.
Was he cursed? Doomed to be cannon fodder for every player named Ren?
"Yeah, why him?" Roxy chimed in, crossing her arms. "Rox can go instead. He's lighter on his feet."
"Huh?!" Rox straightened with a jolt. "Why me?"
"Because you're a hunter," Roxy shot back. "Checking traps is literally your job. Maybe do it for once."
Rox sneered. "And that's why you don't have a boyfriend—you're bossy! You'd probably make your future husband scout traps, too."
"What did you say?!"
Rox stuck his tongue out. "Just speaking the truth!"
Before their argument escalated, Ren cut in, tone firm and final. "Ragnar will go."
The twins froze.
