Inside the carriage, Nie Xiaolu was sitting very stiffly.
Max reached out and placed his warm hand on hers and squeezed it lightly, "Relax, no need to be overly nervous."
"I…I can't help it." She gulped her saliva and forced a smile.
Max didn't say anything in response because he knew nothing would help.
After almost an hour, the carriage finally entered the Upper District and a while later arrived in the area where the Noble Chu Family resided.
Max had expected a long line of carriages crowding the place given the Chu Family had organised a banquet but there were only a few.
As the carriage came to a stop in front of the massive Chu Estate's entrance, a woman, dressed nicely, hurried over and opened the carriage's door. She was one of Chu Family's servants.
Max nodded in thanks toward her before getting down. Then he gentlemanly extended his hand which Nie Xiaolu, who had relaxed a little, grabbed and stepped out of the carriage.
