She'd never seen Sebastian Lockwood at a loss before. She paused, and the laughter she'd been holding back finally escaped.
Sebastian Lockwood must have sensed something, because his expression darkened. Anyone would want to save face in front of the person they like. He stopped walking and said nothing, simply staring at the girl whose laughter was growing more and more unrestrained.
The compound was quiet at night, so even though Sydney Sawyer wanted to roar with laughter, she had to stifle it.
It was painful holding it in, and her face flushed bright red.
"Is it really that funny I couldn't win a doll?"
If it had been anyone else, Sebastian Lockwood probably would have kicked them. He wouldn't have just stood there and taken the ridicule.
"It's not that it's funny, it's just…" Sydney Sawyer said with a laugh. "I just didn't expect your skills to be so terrible."
"This is my first time playing a claw machine."
"I can tell."
