"This is Illinois? Pft!" Karoline couldn't hold herself back. She pointed at the collection of chaotic scratches and irregular, wobbly lines on the ground while laughing in pure, unbridled mockery.
"What do you think this is, pathetic girl?" Hilary didn't like the tone or the words of her rival one bit. She stood up, crossed her arms, and looked Karoline in the eye, challenging her to do better.
"I'd say an apple pie or something," the jumper laughed, joining Karoline in her ridicule. Hilary turned to me, looking for support, but all I could do, chick, was to raise both hands in the air, announcing my total helplessness towards this artistic disaster. It looked more like a squashed spider than a Midwestern state.
"Screw you all! I dare to see how you'll draw my Illinois then."
"I'll teach you," Karoline moved forward, grabbing the white charcoal from Hilary's hand with a scoff. "Just watch. Some of us actually paid attention to geography before the world ended."
