Fang had once told me that within each race, there were typically five Paragons competing for absolute control over their entire species. In such a high-stakes environment, it would be natural for Archlords like Fang and Wryly to want to expand their territories outside their assigned borders to bolster their patrons' standing.
Fang wasn't the problem. That dude was pure ambition; he was a mirror of myself in many ways. If there was land to be taken and power to be gained, he would be there with his blades drawn.
But Wryly... that dude was a Berserker through and through. He was focused entirely on the glory of the fight. Without the promise of a legendary struggle or a worthy foe, he wouldn't be excited to participate in a mere land grab.
