Chapter 73 - Chapter 72

The hell was he doing here?!

Bazz-B was not meant to be around for at least two more years and he was never supposed to be near Karakura. No, the rooster looking Sternritter was meant to be a part of the attack on Soul Society by Wandenreich where he kept bullshitting about how his flames were as hot as Old Man Genocide's. And then die to Yhwach's right hand man, whose name I couldn't pronounce and was Bazz-B's childhood friend or something.

"You can just take any of the empty seats." Miss Ochi said with a smile, not aware that she was talking to a guy that could kill her with a single flex.

Instead of doing as the teacher said, Bazz-B walked to the seat next to me where Keigo was sitting and just glared down at him with the aura of the flaming rooster that he was.

Suffice to say, Keigo immediately gathered his notebooks with panic and jumped to one of the empty seats. At which point, the Sternritter claimed the now empty seat.

"Or you can do that too." Miss Ochi said with a smile of a teacher who had to deal with the bullshit of Ichigo and the rest of the Karakura gang for a long time and just given up on having normal students.

The rest of the class also cared little for what had happened and focused back on the lecture.

Except for me.

I couldn't really focus on anything other than the Sternritter sitting beside me. A captain level combatant whose power was mostly focused on wide area attacks with the Schrift that was arguably the most specialized in wide area destruction among Wandenreich with the sole exception of Bambietta 'Everything is a Bomb' Basterbine.

Could I take him down if he was here for something nefarious? Probably.

Could I take him down without him burning at least half of the town to charcoal? Definitely not.

Then again, there was still a chance that him being here was not something that I was responsible for. For all I knew he was merely send here to keep an eye on Icihigo as a punishment for doing something stupid back in Wandenreich. He seemed to be the type.

Surely when I looked at him I would see nothing… nope, he was glaring right at me and not even trying to be discreet about it.

The rest of the lecture was spent with me trying to pretend there wasn't a guy glaring at me by my side and trying to figure out how to deal with this mess.

The final solution I came to?

"Let's get to know each other, my new friend!"

"The hell?!"

Putting my arm around Bazz-B's shoulder and just run out of the class the moment bell ringed.

-------------

"Put me down!"

"Just stay still for a minute." I grunted as we finally reached to the very field where I had given Tatsuki her powers. With a simple gesture, the barrier around the field came to life once more.

"Now we can talk in private." Cause I had no delusions about Urahara not bugging the whole town for his sketchy spying hobbies and I didn't need the shopkeeper to be a part of this. "Now spill, why are you here?"

"The hell are you talking about?" Bazz grunted as he got up from where I dropped him and dusted his pants off.

"I'm talking about how you, a goddamn Sternritter of Yhwach, are in Karakura when you and the rest of the army should still be hiding for the 'promised day' to come." I said with a glare and was met back with a glare in turn.

"How the hell do you know, ah forget it." He scoffed as he ran a hand through his hair. "And you got a lot of nerve asking when you are the reason I am here."

"...huh?"

"It was after his majesty met you that he decided to send the Sternritters to the human world so that we could 'enjoy' the current world before it ended. So that we could properly appreciate what we gain when his majesty wins the war."

How the fuck did tha...

----

"There are things I cherish in the world and if this world will truly end... then I wish to spend a little more time with them while I still can. Enjoy its last moments."

----

Ah... I had said something like that, hadn't I.

Fuck.

I had worried so much about how my actions could have altered the timeline, but somehow I had never considered that Yhwach might actually listen to me.

Which, in hindsight, was probably a mistake. Even if an understandable one.

"Wait, did he send out all the Sternritters?" Cause I could easily name a few who should never be allowed near ordinary people. Or just people in general.

"Of course not; the nutcases like As Nödt, Driscoll and Jerome were told to stay back in the headquarters. But most others were sent out." He said with a shrug. "I think Candice was sent to Ireland or something, and Gerard to someplace called Glasgow, but I don't know where they sent the others."

Ok, ok this was still salvageable.

Despite his mannerism and poor hairstyle choices, Bazz-B was actually one of the most reasonable members of Sternritter and one of the most straightforward. If he said the more psycho members were still in Wandenreich and that he was alone, he was more than likely telling the truth. Meaning that I didn't have to worry about the rest of Sternritter, at the moment.

Before I could think any further on the issue, the air around us trembled with a spiritual pressure that was far too powerful for any basic hollow.

Too powerful to be a lieutenant even.

"Talk to you later, got new situation." I said as I turned around and clapped my hands to generate the gravity needed for my movement. "Talk to you later Rooster."

"The fuck did you call me?!"
