She asked, "Where are we going?"
He was driving, his face calm. "You'll know once you reach the destination."
Christine Quinn didn't ask again, leaning against the seat, watching the city neon lights recede.
The car stopped in front of a luxury club.
She got out of the car, puzzled, and asked, "Where is this? Why did you bring me here?"
"It's just a leisure club I opened out of boredom."
"Ah?"
Skyler Jones tossed the car keys to the valet. "Let's go!"
Christine hesitated, standing still. "I have no idea why you brought me here, I won't go in."
Skyler focused his deep black eyes on Christine. "What, are you afraid I'll do something to you?"
Christine looked away from his gaze, seriously saying, "Yes, after all, I don't have much of a connection with you." Except for avoiding Marie's sudden phone call checking on her at night, she wouldn't have gone out with him.
Skyler chuckled.
Christine glared at him. "What's so funny? It's true."
