Christine Quinn turned around and walked to the noisy ticket counter, waiting in a long line to buy tickets.
There were indeed many people buying tickets, and due to the crowd, she occasionally bumped into the people in front and behind her. Fortunately, just as she was frustrated about when she would be able to buy a ticket, Skyler Jones pulled her out of the line.
He suddenly took her hand, leaving her a little flustered, but he calmly led her toward the ticket window.
The crowd was large and jostling at times, yet his body always shielded her.
Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed Marie standing nearby, looking expectant. She knew it was all an act, but she couldn't help feeling a ripple in her heart at his protective gesture.
Skyler Jones spoke only a few words to the staff outside the ticket window, and then he had several tickets in his hand.
