---------------

"This shall be a good place to start." I said with a smile as I rested my cheek on my fist and looked outside from my new mansion. Vast lands stretched before my eyes, kingdoms of heroes and monsters far in the horizon. Ripe for taking.

Though I would likely have to clean the mansion up before any of that since this one was filled with the corpses of the fools that thought they could control me.

Man, who could have thought that a goddamn CYOA site would end up becoming my new life.

A life that could be very short if I wasn't careful for a while since the world I had chosen was just a tiny bit dangerous. And by 'tiny bit' I meant that I was in a crossover world of Konosuba, Re:Zero, Overlord(Maruyama), Mushoku Tensei and Sousou no Frieren that also had a lot more monsters and dangerous flora due to my different world choices and characters who either looked liked those from other media or actually were those characters from other medias running around.

So yeah, tiny bit dangerous.

But it would be manageable. Even with all of the drawbacks I had choosen, I still should be around the level of the top of this world; around the level of monsters like Ainz, Orsted and Reinhard. Though just going around guns blazing would likely make all those top guys gang up on me so I probably shouldn't do that. Meaning I had to lay… low…

…hadn't I taken 'Obvious Summoning' as a drawback?

—————

Throughout the world, those who were connected to the magic of the world and those who held the skills that allowed them to sense things all looked up at the same time. None of them were sure what exactly it was, but something had just happened that made it feel like the balance of the world was on the verge of breaking.

The wandering Dragon God looked up with a frown and tried to think what could have caused such a variable.

An elf with golden hair perked up for a moment before shrugging and going back to the book she was reading. Whatever that was, it wasn't her problem.

The white haired witch smiled as she wondered what exactly could have entered the world that could make her feel such excitement.

The dragon with platinum scales in the flying castle awakened from his slumber as he felt a new threat to the world he swore to protect.

The ruler of demons in the faraway land looked up and scowled. Feeling threatened for the first time in centuries.

A blue haired goddess kept snoring in a barn as she kept cradling an empty bottle of wine.

————

Nah, I had a perk that weakened the effects of my drawbacks; it should be fine. As long as the whole calling people from other medias didn't bring some sort of universe busting monster like Darkseid or Galactus that is.

There was no point in thinking along those lines for too long so I decided to simply tour my new mansion and try to come up with some sort of plan with the things the information I could gather there.

It didn't took me too long before I decided that I would be needing a new mansion cause I had kinda underestimated how many people I had killed inside this one. Seriously, everywhere was covered with the blood of cultists that thought that they could control me in order to destroy the nobles of their country and then start their world conquest, or something like that.

They weren't even Witch or Axis Cultist, which made their zealotry downright pathetic and my situation embarrassing. I wasn't summoned just by cultic morons, I was summoned by second rate cultic morons! O' woe is me!

Oh well, they all had paid for their inadequacies with their lives as I used them in order to test a few of my new powers.

"Nngh!" Well, almost all of them. It seemed like one had managed to cling to their lives after I had been through with them, though I doubted that life would be pleasant anymore; seeing as the man no longer had legs, had only one arm and his other arm had been burnt beyond any hope of recovery. But his mouth seemed to work so he still had one use.

"Hey, I got a few questions for you." I said as I looked down at the one limbed man and gave him a kick to his side for good measure.

"You... you were supposed to... supposed to help us... why?!" The man cried out in typical evil-cultist-moron-that-got-killed-by-what-they-summoned way.

"Cause I can, now tell me who you people are and where we are." I said with a frown, right before giving the bastard another kick.

"Ngh, never!"

"Great, of all the morons that could have survived; it just had to be the stubborn one." I said with a sigh as I pinched the bridge of my nose. "Whatever, no more mister nice guy." So I raised my hand towards the moron and cast my first proper spell.

"Dominate mind." The fifth tier spell immediately took effect and the cultist's eyes lost all light, becoming dull and his face emotionless. After that, my interrogation began and damn the results were unsatisfactory.

Apparently, the morons that summoned me were part of some big cult by the name of 'Greedy Apostles', who all worshipped the Eight Greed Kings. They had been hoping that their ritual would summon the shade of one of those kings and then have the shade help them destroy the kingdoms for 'daring' to follow different beliefs than them.

My current position was that of a small village near the borders of Kararagi and Belzerg, which had been governed by one of their members secretly in the guise of the local lord. They had shed their disguises roughly a week ago and had massacred about half of the villagers and imprisoned the rest in a dungeon under the mansion. Classic cult stuff.

What had been interesting was what the man knew about the magic of this world, which was roughly distributed in three different schools.

The first school was Gate Magic, which depended on a spiritual organ inside of the body that pilfered the magic in the air into the body. It was considered to be the easiest one to learn as everyone in the world had a gate and could theoretically learn how to use it.

The second school was Wild Magic, a system that used the magical power generated from one's soul. This was the least widespread school of magic due to not everyone having a soul strong enough to generate their own magic. But in exchange it was the school with the widest array of possibilities and had less 'restrictive' rules compared to other schools. Though apparently learning this school of magic made it extremely hard for one to learn warrior based abilities like Touki or Martial Arts, which were a forcefield that boosted one's abilities and something akin to Skills one could use at cost of stamina respectively.

The third and the final school was Tier Magic, it was the newest school of magic that was given to the world by the Eight Greed Kings. It had a popularity lesser than Gate Magic but greater than Wild Magic due to the fact that everyone could theoretically learn it but required far more studying compared to Gate Magic.

It seemed like my choices of crossover had worked quite well, integrating each power system into each other. Which did mean that many characters would likely be stronger than their counterparts but at least it made things interesting.

What was even more interesting was the current state of religions; which included but was not limited to Eris Church, Millis Church, Axis Cult and Dragon faith. Not to mention the well known phenomenon of other worlders, those who come from beyond the Great Waterfall.

...at least they would have been interesting if the moron in my grasp knew anything substantial about them beyond them being heretics or some similar nonsense, which led to my temper finally getting the best of me as I ripped his head off with a pull.

Was it an overreaction? Maybe.

Was it satisfying? Immensely!

Now then, it was about time I went and introduced myself to the locals. Though...

As I looked down at my hands with blood red skin and sharp black nails, along with the feeling of the dark feathered wings on my back and the horns protruding out of my skull; I couldn't help but think that maybe, just maybe, going down as I was might not be the best of ideas. So I focused and felt my skin ripple as my wings and horns disappeared, nails became normal and my skin turned into a more caucasian color; followed by a magic circle that created a suit and a trench-coat over me.

"This is better." I said with a satisfied nod as I started walking towards the largest concentration of life-force in the mansion, which I assumed to be the dungeons, all the while throwing the head in my head in air and catching it. Wondering how long it would take for my demon lord seed to form, it would be wasteful if I went off to massacre people before that.

And so began, the tale of the demon lord Asbeel.
