Chapter 102 - Grand One(FGO/WC)

"Senpai!" Mash cried out with wide eyes as her master took a kick from the Lancer of this Singularity, which as a normal human all but guaranteed his demise.

"Shit!" Caster yelled as he threw another barrage of runes towards their enemy but to be perfectly honest, Olga was no longer paying any attention to what was happening around her.

Today was supposed to be the beginning, the beginning of her journey to show that she was worthy of the name of Animusphere and to lead Chaldea. Instead everything had gone to shit. Everything!

She did not know what, or who, caused the explosion nor how it somehow sent her to this Singularity but those were somewhat less important to her compared to the fact that she had been getting chased by skeletons!

The relief of being rescued from the skeletons also had been rather short lived when she saw exactly who it was that had saved her. The one master candidate they had gotten at the last minute, the one that had been fooling around with Roman, kept trying to hug Mash and had fallen asleep during her lecture! She literally could not imagine a worse person to come to her rescue... barring Beryl but that was because he was Beryl.

She could admit that she had been somewhat pleasantly surprised when he had showed some impressive physical capability along with that weird familiar he had conjured using the fires around them, even if he had claimed that creating it had been incredibly difficult due to the magical presence residing within the flames.

Of course that was the moments things had, once more, went to shit!

She knew that the appearance of enemy servants was a possibility, she knew it but she had severelyunderestimated how strong a servant could be!

Even with the sudden appearance of the Caster class servant that had allied with them, they still could not deal with the enemy Lancer. The purple haired woman was simply far too fast! And after several moments of battle between Lancer and Caster, who had support from Mash and the fire based familiar, they had somehow forgotten the most crucial fact about a battle between servants.

Masters were an obviousweakness.

She was not sure whether it was the unexpected power he had shown at the start, his contract with Mash, creation of the fire elemental or the fact that they had Caster with them; but in the end they had foolishly ended up lowering their guard. And now it was over.

"Be proud, you were all far too strong for me to beat myself; that's why I targeted the weak link you had." Lancer said with a cruel smirk while Caster stood in front of her, Mash on the other hand looked like she was about to have a mental breakdown.

"That was a real long and poetic way of saying that you are a cowardly weakling." Caster said with a smirk but Olga could see that the blue haired man was tense. And if she could see it, then so could Lancer.

"Please stop trying to put a brave face. You used quite a bit of magical energy in our battle, far more than you have been before, confident in your reserves with a master supplying you with energy. But he'll die to his wounds soon and then you'll have maybe a few more minutes before vanishing." Lancer said with a cruel chuckle as she twirled her weapon behind her.

"Of course, you might be able to save him with your magecraft; but do you think that girl and the familiar can hold me off until you manage that? Accept it, your master is dead and you all are about to follow after him!"

"Don't kill me off just yet!"

Olga's head whipped back with such a speed that she was somewhat surprised she didn't hurt her neck. Not that she had any time to think about something as insignificant as her health when a ridiculous impossibility was in front of her. The master candidate that had just gotten a full strength blow from a servant was standing, with practically no injuries. As a matter of fact he looked even better than he was before the fight with a wide smile on his face and his eyes glowing an eerie blue color.

"...for real?" Lancer asked with a strained smile on her face, looking just about as confused as them.

"For real real!" The impossible man said as his shirt suddenly disappeared; much to her and, from the squeak she heard, Mash's mortification. Which then turned into horrification as he started to slap himself on the stomach where there was a huge patch of skin that was definitely paler than the rest, almost like a healed scar.

"I have to thank you! I was not sure how to deal with people like you at my level! I did not understand how to use my powers well enough to you see! But now I understand!" He said with a laugh, making Olga wonder how he could be so happy.

"My power is negative energy! But what I need to heal myself was positive energy, which I can now make by multiplying the negative energy with more negative energy! I now understand it!" Olga could no longer even understand what he was talking about, only that he somehow managed to heal himself with some sort of spell that he could not use before.

"You seem quite happy boy." Lancer said with a chuckle but anyone looking at her could feel it, the servant of the spear was mad.

"Do you think just because you survived one hit..." The rest of her sentence was left unfinished as the master candidate vanished before their eyes and then appeared right in front of Lancer with his fingers crossed between them, making her eyes widen before a bright red glow appeared on his fingertips and then...

"Cursed Technique Reversal: Red." A shockwave from where the light had been a moment ago erupted and sent Lancer flying away.

"You little!" An act that she seemed to have taken offense to by the rage in her tone as she threw her hair back, which then turned into chains!

"Don't think you'll..." Once more her words were left unfinished as she realized that her opponent was no longer where he had been a moment ago.

"NineRopes. Polarized Light. Crow and Declaration. Between Front and Back." Lancer's head snapped upwards as she heard a soft voice chant above her, making eye contact with her enemy who had a relaxed smile on his face as he pointed at her with his index and middle fingers.

It was the slightest moment of hesitation born from not understanding what was happening. But combined with her deteriorated mental state and lower physical stats from what had happened due to the mud...

"HollowTechnique: Purple."

...it costed her the battle, and her life, as whatever it was her enemy had been using collided with her. There was nothing left of her afterwards.
