The moment Vera Warner left the Apex Hotel, she called Violet. It wasn't long before Violet pulled up to the hotel entrance.
"What's wrong, Madam? Did something happen?"
Seeing Vera's shaken expression, Violet started to panic as well.
'I was only gone for a short while to deliver something for her. Could something have happened in that brief time?'
'If that's the case, I'll never forgive myself. How could I possibly explain this to Victor Morgan?'
"I'm fine, really. Let's just drive. We're not going back to the office; take me home. I'm a little tired and want to rest. And... nothing happened today. Don't overthink it, and don't tell anyone."
Vera patted her chest. All she wanted now was to get home and have a good sleep. Everything was such a mess; she needed to think things through carefully.
She still couldn't believe what Adrian Morgan had said in the private room. It completely shattered her perception of him.
"Yes, Madam."
