Faye Lockwood and Luna White were stepping up preparations for their scheme, even spending a fortune to hire help from out of town. After all, everyone knew the power wielded by Victor Morgan of the Morgan Group. What they were doing was tantamount to courting disaster.
So they could only find people who loved money more than their own lives. The plan was to have them take the money and disappear once the job was done.
It had to be said, though, that Vera Warner's life had been quite wonderful lately.
Warner Industries had successfully acquired Lumiere Inc., becoming the largest fashion design company in all of Aethelgard in one fell swoop. To celebrate, Vera generously gave the entire company a three-day holiday.
This gave her time to spend at home with the two little ones, cook for Victor Morgan, pick up the children from school with him, and have dinner with the Morgan family on weekends as usual. Everything was in perfect order.
