The next morning, Vera Warner arrived at the company. She knew she had to start preparing. Once her rivals recovered, they would surely retaliate. If she waited until then to get ready, it would be too late.
Seeing Vera Warner arrive at the company, Mrs. Ellison rushed over to gossip:
"So, how was it? Did you have fun? From what I hear, everything in East City—the food, the drinks—is all top-notch."
"Yes, it was nice. I really got a chance to relax."
Vera Warner nodded. The trip had been a bit tiring, but it was certainly enjoyable.
"That's great! You can't work yourself too hard. This way, you not only get to relax, but you also get to take the two kids out for some fun."
"But while you were having fun... that beautiful night view you saw... did you two...?"
Mrs. Ellison's words started to sound like she was fishing for details. Vera was genuinely surprised. 'I can't believe even Mrs. Ellison is this nosy.'
