Sorry for the delay over the last few days, guys.

Ada looked at Jack coldly, her gaze sharp, steady, and filled with a storm she refused to let spill over. The air between them felt heavy, as though even the silence carried tension.

"Jack, do you even understand what you've done?"

Jack's expression did not change. He smiled — that familiar, infuriating smile — relaxed, almost amused, as if the sharpness of her tone barely registered.

"I understand perfectly. Matters between husband and wife can always be resolved together. Therefore, Ada… you are my woman."

His voice was calm, disturbingly certain. Not hesitation. Not guilt. Certainty.

Ada's eyes darkened. A flicker of disbelief crossed her face before hardening into anger.

"You really dare to say that, Jack? I should happily kill you right now."

Jack tilted his head slightly, studying her as though she were a puzzle rather than a person trembling with rage. Yet when he spoke again, his tone softened — deceptively gentle.

"Ada, even if you killed me, it wouldn't help anything. But I want to make up for my mistake. Give me a chance."

For the briefest moment, sincerity appeared in his eyes. It was fleeting, but it was there.

Ada let out a short, bitter laugh.

"You have Jill. You have Teri. Even Alice. Why should I give you any opportunity?"

Jack spread his hands slightly, his smile widening with playful arrogance.

"Wouldn't it be more complete if everyone stayed together?"

Ada's voice dripped with ridicule.

"You really think the world revolves around you? Reality doesn't bend to your wishes."

Jack paused. Not offended, not defensive — simply thinking.

"If something seems impossible, that only means no one dared to try. I can think. I absolutely dare to act."

Ada's stare remained unyielding.

"And yet, I won't give you that chance."

Jack placed a hand dramatically over his chest.

"That hurts. Truly. My heart is shattered."

"Stop acting," Ada snapped. "Get up."

Jack did not move. His voice lowered slightly.

"Why? This feels rather nice."

"You unbelievable man…"

Suddenly, Ada leaned forward. Without warning, without another word — she bit his shoulder.

Jack barely reacted, though the force of it was not gentle. Ada refused to release her grip, anger and humiliation pouring through her like fire.

"Hateful… hateful, hateful!" she muttered through clenched teeth. "How could you do this to me?"

Jack's smile faded just slightly. His voice, when it came, was unexpectedly soft.

"Do you feel better now?"

Ada's body trembled. The strength behind her anger began to crack.

"No… this isn't better. Nothing about this is better…"

Her voice faltered. Tears slid down despite her resistance, hot against her cold composure.

Jack's eyes softened. He leaned closer and wiped away the tears with his lips.

"Don't touch me," Ada said, turning her face aside, though her voice lacked its earlier sharpness.

"Ada… seeing you cry hurts me."

"I'm not crying," she insisted weakly.

"You are," Jack replied quietly. "I know you're unwilling. But don't torture yourself. Whatever it is… bring it to me."

Ada's voice turned icy again, though it trembled beneath the surface.

"Bring it to you? If killing you would fix this, I wouldn't hesitate."

Jack slowly stood. His bare figure stepped back two paces. His shadow stretched faintly across the frozen ground.

"If that truly makes you happy… then kill me."

Ada clutched the torn remains of her red skirt, wrapping it tightly around herself. Every movement sent pain rippling through her body. Her legs trembled, muscles aching, nerves still raw. The soreness below was an unrelenting reminder of everything she wished she could forget.

She raised her weapon, jaw tight.

"Jack… you said you wouldn't resist."

"I won't," Jack answered calmly. "I dare to act, and I dare to accept responsibility. But Ada… you are my woman. Even if I die, that won't change. I've already left my mark on you."

Ada's hand shook violently.

"Stop talking!"

"It's the truth."

"I'll kill you."

Her finger tightened slowly on the trigger.

Jack's face showed fearless resolve. Beneath that surface, he knew bullets meant little to him — but appearances mattered. This moment mattered.

"If you truly want to kill me… then do it."

Ada froze. The trigger stopped halfway.

Her eyes filled with conflict. Rage. Pride. Something deeper she refused to name.

Jack watched silently.

Seconds stretched unbearably long.

Finally —

Ada lowered the gun slightly.

"You saved me twice before. I won't kill you today. Consider it repayment. Next time… either you die, or I do."

She fired the gun aside. The echo of the shot rang hollow in the vast, icy emptiness.

Jack's tone remained steady.

"Saving you was my choice. It has nothing to do with this. If you want to kill me, don't let hesitation exist. Next time, don't hold back."

Ada turned away. Each step was slow, unsteady, pain laced into every movement. She limped forward, refusing to look back.

"I know exactly what I'm doing. This time… I won't kill you."

Jack vanished in a blur —

—and reappeared directly before her.

Before Ada could react, he pulled her into his arms.

"Don't struggle."

"Let go of me!" Ada cried, pushing weakly. "I don't want to see you!"

Her resistance pulled at aching muscles. Pain shot through her, sharp and immediate.

"Don't move recklessly," Jack murmured. "You'll only hurt yourself."

"It's none of your concern."

"How could it not be? You are my woman. Your matters are my matters."

"I am not your woman!"

Jack's lips curved again into that dangerous smile.

"You're quite stubborn. And I happen to be very experienced with stubborn women."

Ada's eyes widened.

"What are you going to do?"

Jack did not answer.

He suddenly pushed her down.

Ada gasped as her back met the frozen ground. The cold bit instantly against her heated skin.

Jack leaned over her once more.

"Hateful — get away from me!"

He pulled at the ruined skirt.

Fabric slid aside.

They were once again skin to skin.

"You can only belong to me."

"Jack, you—!"

Her protest dissolved into a cry of pain.

Jack's body moved.

Ada's voice trembled.

"Hateful…"

---

One hour later.

Ada lay there, breathing heavily, chest rising and falling in uneven rhythm.

"Hū… hū…"

Not a trace of strength remained. Every muscle screamed. Every nerve pulsed with exhaustion.

Jack's voice drifted from beside her, calm, almost teasing.

"Wife… shall we continue?"

Panic flashed across Ada's eyes.

Again?

Her body could not endure more.

"Don't touch me…"

Jack smiled faintly.

"That decision isn't yours."

Anger flared weakly through Ada's fatigue.

"You keep forcing me… does that make you happy?"

Jack brushed her cheek gently.

"I only want you to feel joy."

Ada's voice trembled, frustration and confusion breaking through.

"Joy? How could this ever feel joyful? I don't understand…"

Jack's smile remained, unreadable.

"Because fate insists we stand on the same side. Even heaven itself seems determined to rob me of reason."

Ada's eyes flashed with sudden fury.

"Then I'll push you away myself!"

Suddenly —

Wind.

Fire.

Water.

Earth.

Ice.

Five violent forces erupted from Ada's anger.

Energy exploded outward like a storm unleashed.

Jack was blasted backward, thrown away by the sheer force.

Ada collapsed, gasping violently. Her body trembled uncontrollably. The exhaustion was unbearable. Pain coursed through her like shattered glass beneath skin.

Yet within that agony —

There was clarity.

Defiance.

Something fierce and unbroken.

Finally…

One way or another…

Something had ended.

And something else —

had only just begun. Oh
