Final Chapter / Author's Note
Hey, it's Tsunami.
I've enjoyed writing this story, but I've realized I've left out a multitude of factors that would help both myself and the reader. Things like a proper world map, a map of the Phoenix Clan, and other important geographical and topographical details. I've also found that I've underexplained some key concepts while overexplaining others.
Because of this, I will be delisting this version of VWAMS.
No, I am not quitting.
Even though I love and respect Viking culture, I've come to realize that it doesn't fit the direction the story is naturally moving toward. As a result, I will be shifting the setting toward a more medieval time period to better support the story I want to tell.
Don't worry—Vikings will still exist in the world. However, our main character can no longer realistically lead them while simultaneously dismantling traditions that are central to their identity, such as seeking death in combat to reach Valhalla. As firearms become more common, warriors will die less often in battle, creating natural tension between Viking culture and the changes the MC introduces.
This change also means I'll need a new anchor point for the protagonist that isn't the Praxxon War.
The Embodiment will remain. Doctor Zemetri will remain. At its core, this will still be a System Fantasy and World-Building story.
Combat will feel more like actual fights rather than one-shot encounters, but they also won't drag on endlessly like certain anime battles. Industrialization will feel more paced and natural rather than happening at breakneck speed. Most importantly, events won't occur simply because the main character needs them to happen in order to progress.
I want the world to feel alive, logical, and capable of moving with or without the protagonist.
Thank you all for the feedback, comments, criticism, and support—both good and bad. Every bit of it has helped me understand what this story needs to become.
Until next time, readers.
And hopefully, that next time is very soon.
