Chapter 35 - 35 boss fight

{I came up with a formula for magic dmg and how much time it takes to cast a spell and how affinity affects the dmg and time.

Affinity multiplier (dmg=D time=T):

1=D(×0.2) T(÷0.2)

2-15=D(×0.5) T(÷0.5)

16-30=D(×0.75) T(÷0.75)

31-70=D(×1) T(÷1)

71-83=D(×1.5) T(÷1.5)

84-99=D(×2) T(÷2)

100=D(×3) T(÷3)

(D=mana density stat, PL=proficiency lvl, A=affinity, mana control stat=C, controllable mana=CM, cast time=CT, one handed=OH, two handed=TH)

Formula for dmg:

(1×Mp) × (1×D) × (0.1×PL) × A × (weakness/resistance) = dmg (dmg will also depend on where you hit the opponent and with what the spell does)

Formula for cast time:

(1×CM) ÷ (10×C) ÷ A ÷ OH/TH = CT}

(Time also depends on spell components and more)

(One handed just divides the time by 1 and two handed divides it by 2)

(Also when casting spells connor doesn't need any hand movements for the spell to work)

(I might change the cast time formula)

(Oh and idk if i already said it in one of the last chapters but when fighting connor will almost always use most of his power ups)

Sitting on the floor i think about if i should head to the corruption right now or if i should fight the brain of cthulhu.

But after thinking about it i decided on fighting the brain so i started thinking about what it's attacks could be in real life and about its illusions.

Clearing out the baseball field sized cavern i put two spells into my ring one was a fire bolt and the other was an lightning bolt.

The fire bolt was because the minions (the floating eyes) are susceptible to fire damage so i think the brain might be as well and the lightning bolt because it's a freaking brain.

Taking out a gun i shoot one of the orbs shattering it into hundreds of pieces. (No items dropped or will be dropped from these orbs since i can't think of a logical reason for them to be there)

I stand there and wait for 10 seconds before i see a part of a wall opening and there is an eye that locks onto me.

Looking at it it does nothing which feels weird so i decide to shoot the eye and it dies.

Shooting another orb i see that the walls started to open and 100 eyes with tentacles with sharp ends came flying out, each of them being about the size of half my body.

Creating a magic circle that will act as a constant flame thrower for as long as i supply it with mana i start showering the eyes in fire.

As soon as the first eye gets set on fire all of them fully put their attention on me and start flying towards me so fast that they will arrive in a 5 seconds.

the closest eye is almost at my location i already killed 9 of them, since they only have about the same amount of hp as 4 regular humans (a normal human has 100hp) so they died in almost half a seconds. (I calculated how many he can kill in 5s while using 100mp/s )

(Fun fact: i don't like math nor am i good at it)

As it's about try and pierce me with its tentacles (each eye has 3-5) i cut off all most all of its tentacles only leaving it with one that i let pass and stab into my arm which did nothing since i am harder then cobalt right now.

Seeing this i smile as i let all of the eyes gang up on me, stabbing viscously into my body in vain.

As they are trying to fight me i get a fireball ready with all the mana i can control which took me 14.5 seconds to get ready.

Teleporting away from the ball of eyes i appeared 80 meters away from them so i activated my spell and threw a condensed fireball the size of a yoga ball at them that will explode on impact.

They quickly spotted the fireball but it was too late as the ball quickly impacted into one of the eyes instantly creating a large explosion that killed 71 of them leaving only 20 severely burned and missing some of their tentacles.

Taking out my sword i ran at them and killed them one by one.

As i killed the last one my mana was almost completely recovered and as i was wondering where brain of cthulhu was a part of the wall exploded and out from it i saw the brain of cthulhu but when i observed it it said something different.

From this i gathered that the lore of this world isn't the same as in the game which is relieving.

Looking at the brain closely i see it is mostly the same as the terraria boss but this one had similar tentacles as the eye minion thingies and it was surrounded in a thick magical barrier and the brain was about the same size as a blue whale.

Suddenly the brain vanished from my vision.

Instantly i look around me but i see nothing but soon i see spear-like magical constructs made from crimson red energy, about a hundred were flying towards me.

I dodged them with a bit of difficulty but one managed to hit me well it did little dmg but it cursed me. (I will refer to most debuffs as curses)

[Curse: your speed is halved for 8 seconds] (i chose the debuff with a roulette)

This widened my eyes a little this was probably the worst curse i could have gotten.

Thankfully another notification appeared.

[Illusion resistance acquired 1/100 uncommon]

And after looking for the brain again i still found no traces of it until it tried the same trick twice and another barrage of those crimson spells tried to hit me but i teleported out of the way and fired a small 200mp lightning bolt which i made in 0.6 seconds. (one of these lightning bolts could kill a human 12 times over)

The bolt managed to hit the barrier which sent a electric shockwave around it disrupting the illusion but it started to repair itself slowly.

As i saw this i threw another 200 mp bolt at it but it teleported somewhere else now invincible once again.

(A.n: if you are wondering why Connor can't see the mana fluctuations of the illusion magic it's because illusion mana has a special property of basically camouflaging with the ambient mana)

I still couldn't see it so i decided to play defensively by throwing out a 8 steel shields and i used my telekinesis to hold the shields while blocking some of the magical projectiles with them.

In a single minute the steel shields were nothing but scrap but the scrap still could be used to block some of the projectiles, over the time i was defending against it didn't change its tactics much at most only throwing a giant projectile at me that i had to dodge or teleport away from.

After another 30 seconds even the scrap metal became useless since it turned into pebble sized pieces but my illusion resistance reached lvl 8 just as the last piece of junk became completely useless letting me see a vague outline of the brain and barrier.

At this time i also realized that the creature sometimes absorbed the mist in the air and converted it to crimson mana.

Creating two 200mp bolts i threw one at the brain and it teleported as expected but i threw the second one at it after it appeared and this time it didn't teleport which confirmed that it has a cooldown for this ability.

I charged another two bolts and tested out what the cooldown is on its teleportation which was 10 seconds.

I got an 845 bolt ready and i held it in one hand before i created a 100mp bolt which threw at the brain to teleport away and then i used my ring fire ball to see if it would break the barrier but surprisingly it didn't so i waited for one second and threw the ring's lightning bolt which once again did not break the barrier but it left a few cracks.

Now i was somewhat worried and started thinking that i maybe shouldn't have went and picked a fight with a fkin boss monster or at the very least i should have fought king slime or eye of cthulhu.

Throwing the third spell at it the barrier it shattered and hit the brain which obliterated a part of its body revealing a giant beating heart with an eye which was blood shot and looking at me with hatred.

It was also spasming and was paralysed so i teleported infront of the heart eye and stabbed it with all my powers.

As soon as my sword went in the brain fell to the ground and started melting into crimson extract.
