Chapter 573 - Ch 192 - The Old Monster

"D-Disciple...?"

Lei Bao Yu and Bu Kuang Feng were utterly dumbfounded by that single word. It struck harder than the earlier display of the World Cage. Their gazes shifted stiffly toward Jun Mo Xie, then back to the mysterious expert, as though trying to confirm whether their ears had deceived them.

Disciple?

'This terrifying existence… had taken a disciple?'

And that disciple was this young man standing calmly in the middle of so many experts?

The mysterious expert, however, seemed delighted by their expressions. He laughed heartily, the sound rich and resonant, echoing through the fractured ground as if he were hosting a lively banquet rather than standing amid shattered stone and broken pride. He waved his hand at Jun Mo Xie with easy familiarity.

"Ah, you little brat, come here," He said happily. "Come meet these guys. You have met Solitary Falcon and Feng Juan Yun… now come here and meet these little brats."

The crowd's facial expressions twitched.

Little brats?

Every person he pointed at was a towering figure whose name could shake nations.

Jun Mo Xie walked forward unhurriedly, his steps light, his expression composed. If he felt even the slightest pressure standing before such legendary figures, it did not show.

The mysterious expert extended a finger toward a tall, stern-faced man whose aura was cold and crackled faintly with restrained thunder.

"This is one of the current Eight Great Masters, Lei Wu Bei," He said casually. "You told me last time that you have some troubles with his disciples. Don't worry, I'll tell him not to make a fuss."

Lei Wu Bei's expression instantly turned rather ugly.

The title of Eight Great Masters was enough to command respect across the continent, yet in this man's mouth, it sounded like an afterthought. Worse, the tone carried the unmistakable implication that his so-called greatness was irrelevant.

The mysterious expert turned to Lei Wu Bei. His smile did not fade, but something in his eyes shifted. The warmth vanished, replaced by a chill that seeped into the marrow.

"Little Lei," He said softly.

The surrounding temperature seemed to drop.

"Your disciples have some problems with my disciple. Give me some face and keep your disciples in line. You have eleven disciples, but I have only one... You're a smart man."

The words were spoken gently, almost lazily. Yet the killing intent embedded within them was sharp enough to slice through steel.

Lei Wu Bei trembled despite himself. His jaw tightened, fists clenching within his sleeves.

The meaning in his words was crystal clear.

This was no request. It was a warning wrapped in courtesy.

He wanted to argue back. He wanted to roar in defiance and reclaim some measure of dignity. For a fleeting moment, the urge to fight surged within him.

But then the memory of Li Jue Tian's swollen face flashed before his eyes.

The World Cage... The utter helplessness...

Lei Wu Bei slowly bowed his head. "I… understand."

The mysterious expert merely hummed in satisfaction, already losing interest. He turned his attention elsewhere, as though the matter had never been worth more than a breath.

He pointed toward a refined-looking elder with scholarly robes.

"This little brat is called Shi Chang Xiao," He introduced. "He's a great scholar from the Shenci Empire."

Shi Chang Xiao shivered.

Around a hundred years old, a figure of immense prestige within the empire, revered by emperors and scholars alike, yet here he stood, being called a brat in front of the continent's most powerful figures. The beads of sweat poured down his back, soaking his inner garments. He forced a stiff smile, not daring to show the slightest displeasure.

Jun Mo Xie cupped his hands politely. "Senior Shi."

Shi Chang Xiao returned the greeting with equal respect, though inwardly he felt a complicated bitterness.

The youth before him had just been acknowledged as a disciple by a monster who could cage the world.

The respect was not merely courtesy; it was a necessity.

The mysterious expert then gestured lazily at Lei Bao Yu and Bu Kuang Feng.

"As for these two young brats… they are amongst the Eight Great Masters in the days of the past. They are now affiliated with the Elusive World of Immortals."

Lei Bao Yu and Bu Kuang Feng's faces twitched. They were figures whose names had once dominated an era. Yet under his introduction, they sounded like apprentices fresh out of training.

Jun Mo Xie's eyes lit with genuine curiosity.

"Master, what is the Elusive World of Immortals?" He asked, glancing toward the two former masters.

The mysterious expert laughed.

"Well… you can say it is like a sect created by a strong cultivator in the past... It's a place where people are recruited and trained to cultivate... It was all because of that bastard Nine Nether First Young Master. Even after a thousand years, I still feel enraged just to think about that brat. I should have really killed him back then... Anyway, he cultivated three foolish disciples, and they created three sects… and now they are called the three Holy Lands... the Elusive World of Immortals is one of them."

"Anyway, you don't need to really care about them. You just need to focus on cultivating and mastering my unique art."

He spoke with such casual indifference that it was as though he were recounting a minor annoyance from yesterday.

But the effect of his words was explosive.

Ssss....

Lei Bao Yu and Bu Kuang Feng both sucked in sharp breaths, their composure finally cracking.

The Nine Nether First Young Master...

That name alone was a legend etched into the bones of history. A mythical existence whose rise had shaken the entire Xuan Xuan Continent, the man who introduced the Xuan Qi to the world, and whose disappearance had left endless speculation.

His disciples founding the Three Holy Lands was a well-known truth among top-tier cultivators.

And yet this man spoke of him as a 'brat.'

More than that, he claimed he should have killed him thousands of years ago.

The two former masters stared at the mysterious expert as if seeing him anew.

If he had truly lived in that era… If he had truly crossed paths with the Nine Nether First Young Master… then just how old was he?

What kind of monster stood before them?

A chill crawled up Lei Bao Yu's spine. His earlier fear of the World Cage now seemed trivial compared to the realization settling in his heart. They had not merely witnessed overwhelming strength.

They were standing before a living relic of myth.

Bu Kuang Feng swallowed dryly. "Senior… you mean to say… You personally knew him?"

The mysterious expert snorted lightly. "Knew him? I nearly strangled him. That bastard was too slippery... like an eel."

He waved his hand dismissively, as though brushing away ancient history.

The place fell into a heavy silence.

Jun Mo Xie's eyes shone faintly at his words.

The mysterious expert glanced at his disciple and nodded approvingly.

"Don't let legends distract you," He said. "If you cultivate properly, one day others will speak your name with the same nonsense awe."

He then looked around at the gathered experts, his lips curling into a faint smile.

"Now, since introductions are done… does anyone else wish to give my disciple trouble?"

But no one dared to speak a single word.
