Chapter 17 - Sores, Secrets, and Chaos

At night, in the bed, Loui puts hemorrhoid cream on Gavin lips for the sore lips. While Gavin prepares to vacate his room, Loui learns that Gavin uses his torn-up essay from his notebook for penmanship. While fighting to get back the essay notes from Gavin, Gavin's girlfriend Lu Lu walks in. Gavin tells his girlfriend that his phone was broken and could not call her. Lu Lu notices that Gavin's phone (that was fixed by Loui before Lu Lu's arrival) was working and breaks the phone. Gavin gets angry and tries to hit her, but blocked by Loui. With anger, Lu Lu leaves the place. Loui asks Gavin to go and convince Lu Lu, to which Gavin obliges. Later, the three of them eat at a restaurant

P.O.V...

Loui cares for Gavin's sore lips and discovers his use of Loui's torn essay. A confrontation with Gavin's girlfriend Lu Lu escalates, but Loui protects Gavin and ensures the conflict is resolved, balancing care, loyalty, and quiet authority.

Night had settled softly over the room. Loui leaned over Gavin, a small tube of cream in hand.

"Here," Loui murmured, gently dabbing the hemorrhoid cream on Gavin's chapped lips. "This should help."

Gavin blinked, slightly embarrassed. "You… you're really taking care of me, huh?"

"I told you I would," Loui replied, voice soft but firm. "Even if it's gross."

Gavin chuckled lightly, closing his eyes as Loui's careful touch soothed the soreness.

Later, Gavin packed his bag, preparing to vacate the room. Loui's gaze fell on the notebook lying open on the desk, and his eyes widened.

"Wait… is that… my torn-up essay?" Loui exclaimed.

Gavin turned, glancing at the crumpled pages in his hand. "Yeah… I'm using it for penmanship practice. Didn't you say my handwriting was messy?"

"You can't just use my notes like that!" Loui said, rushing over. "Give them back!"

Gavin smirked, holding the pages just out of reach. "Catch me if you can."

Loui lunged, and in the scuffle, the door swung open.

"Gavin!" a sharp voice called—Lu Lu. Gavin's girlfriend had arrived unexpectedly.

"What are you doing?" Lu Lu demanded, eyes narrowing as she stepped inside.

Gavin held up his hands defensively. "Lu Lu! My phone… it was broken! I couldn't call you!"

Lu Lu's eyes flicked to the phone on the desk, still glowing from the repair Loui had done earlier. Her expression twisted.

"So your phone works just fine!" she shouted, snatching it up and smashing it onto the floor.

Gavin's anger flared. "You—how dare you!" He lunged toward her, fists raised.

Loui stepped in swiftly, blocking Gavin's swing and placing himself between them. "Stop! Don't hit her!"

Lu Lu huffed, glaring at them both. "You're impossible!" With that, she stormed out, slamming the door behind her.

Gavin's chest heaved with anger. "That was… unbelievable!"

Loui's hand rested gently on his arm. "I know… but you need to calm down. Go. Convince her to listen. You can fix this."

Gavin hesitated, then nodded slowly. "Alright… I'll go."

An hour later, the tension had eased slightly. Gavin returned, quiet but composed, and Loui led him to a small restaurant nearby. To their surprise, Lu Lu was already there, sitting with arms crossed but calmer.

They all sat down, the waiter bringing menus. Loui nudged Gavin gently. "See? Everything's fine. Just… talk."

Gavin looked at Loui, a small smile tugging at his lips. "Thanks… for keeping me from doing something stupid back there."

Loui shrugged, playful but caring. "Someone has to be responsible."

Lu Lu looked between them, still frowning but softening slightly. "You two… are really something else."

The three of them shared a tentative laugh as the waiter arrived with drinks. Loui caught Gavin's hand under the table, squeezing it gently.

Gavin returned the squeeze, leaning closer. "I'm lucky… to have you here."

"Don't get used to it," Loui teased softly, a faint smile lighting his face. "But… I'm glad I'm here."

They ate together, the awkward tension gradually melting into quiet camaraderie. Despite the fights, misunderstandings, and smashed phones, one thing was clear: Loui and Gavin's bond had grown stronger, even under pressure.

And for tonight, in the warmth of the restaurant and the quiet support between them, everything felt… almost normal.
