He had been just as helpless when Ryley forcibly shifted his soul out of his own body.
The memory came rushing back, reminding him of how narrowly he had escaped the blond's wrath.
After discussing with Eloi their plan to reclaim Angus's stolen crown, Ryley had returned to the very tree where Soren was still trembling.
He strode toward them with his head held high, his gaze fixed sharply on Soren.
"Angus, get the carriage ready. I'll settle my business here quickly."
Angus raised an eyebrow, but merely bowed with an amused smirk before walking away.
Truthfully, he would have loved nothing more than to stay and watch the second round of this catfight unfold.
Once Angus was out of sight, Ryley approached Soren, stopping close enough to tower over him.
"Did you learn nothing from Mervyn?" he asked in a chilling hiss. "He tried everything to win Clyde's attention. He even wore perfume made from my stolen blood essence, hoping it would make Clyde desire him."
