(Boys- third POV)
If there was one universal truth in the world, it was this:
Steven Sy in love was infinitely more entertaining than Steven Sy at rest.
And Vince Kho had been waiting his entire short, dramatic life for this version.
They were supposed to be "killing time" while the girls shopped.
Which, in Vince's language, meant emotional reconnaissance, teasing, and psychological warfare disguised as male bonding.
They had ended up at an open-air café two streets away from the mall — the kind of place with pretentious coffee names and uncomfortable stools, which Andy immediately declared "character-building."
Steven didn't respond.
He sat with his back straight, phone resting face-down on the table, gaze distant but focused in a way that suggested his brain was absolutely not present in reality.
He was present somewhere else.
Probably in the women's section of a department store, mentally protecting Michelle from rogue mannequins.
