"Where am I?"
Clara opened her eyes. She found herself wrapped in bandages and then she remembered about duel. She never thought she would lose. She tried to get up but her injuries were more severe.
"Don't push too much. You better lie on the bed. The injuries are still green."
She found that the voice was of Eric. Eric was sitting next to her.
"What the hell are you doing here?"
"Hey! What is that attitude to speak to someone who helped the doctor to fix you?"
"So. What's that have to do with me?"
"It is everything have to do with you. If I didn't helped doctor you would me more severe."
"But I never said to heal me, right?"
"Hnnnnn. I had enough trash talk. Now I am going to report the med that you are fine."
Eric went to find the doc. Clara wondered how she lost the duel. Then she thought about Eric -
"Eric Valhard. The lazy noble. There is nobody who doesn't know him. His trash reputation is the talk of academy. When I heard that a student fell asleep in ceremony, I was shocked. But that was expected from a student who came here throught connections. I thought that he was a noble who uses his lineage benefits to enter academy just like many others. Really a noble without a shred of talent. Unlike me, who was paving her road as a commoner, he was fattening his stomach. When on roof I found him, I thought of teaching him a lesson. But I never knew about his real strength. I never thought that he is hiding his strength. He is probably strong as the 1st wand. In the duel also he didn't go all out. And he also stopped my attacks with barrier. With a simple barrier!! What circle mage he is???"
Eric came with the doctor. The doctor - Dr. Herd is a professor teaching healing magic in academy. And he also acts as doctor for academy's infirmary. Dr. Herd examined Clara and found no abnormalities. According to his prescription Clara needed some time to heal her injuries in a perfect pace. He gave some medications to Clara and went to attend his classes.
Eric was ordered by headmaster to take care of Clara. He told Eric the reason of Clara's hate towards nobility. While he was thinking of headmaster orders, Clara called him.
"What do you want, Clara?"
"What was the last spell you used in our duel?"
"What you want to do with it?"
"I have never seen that spell anywhere."
"Looks like I have no choice. I will tell you. It is my original magic - Ice domain."
"Hey, what do you mean by original magic?"
"As it sounds. It is a spell I invented my self."
"Don't lie. How could you do that? Even I classified magicians also can't do that."
"If don't believe then I can't do anything. Though I was thinking of teaching you."
"What?? You will teach me?"
"Yes. But you have call me Eric my dear."
Seeing Eric's mocking face, Clara thought of killing him but a better chance to learn a mega tier spell wouldn't come. She wants to reach the pinnacle of magic as fast she can. But to call Eric my dear is out of bounds. But she has to choose the option to take a step towards magic. With her face full of red due to embarrassment, she finally called him my dear. After hearing this, Eric started laughing as loud he can. He was laughing along with teasing Clara. Slowly Clara's embarrassment turned to rage. She punched him like a boxer does to sandbag. After breaking few of his tooth, Eric was sitting on the chair disciplined.
"Now, you better teach me or do you want one more?"
"Sorry!! Please forgive me, your majesty. I will you teach my original magic but it would be better if you become a bit more fit."
"Okay. But you better not run anywhere else."
"Y-Yes ma'am."
