The smile didn't reach his eyes, but Su Ye heard the sharp, astonished gasps from many in the crowd.
Su Qing's voice was low and raspy.

As the voice fell, the surrounding Snake-men parted in unison to form a path. A figure with disheveled, graying hair approached, leaning on a staff.
The man was short and frail, his face a web of wrinkles. A closer look revealed that his eyes were not black, but gray.
The old man was quite unassuming.
But as he walked over, everyone bowed to him and called out in unison.
"Great Elder."
