Chapter 4 - The Gorgeous Man Who Fell from the Skies

She'd better focus on recuperating for now.

After all, the male lead doesn't show up for another three months; there's still time.

Thinking this, Su Ye turned her head and walked out.

As she mulled it over, Su Ye left the room and returned to her own chamber.

From afternoon till dawn, she hadn't taken a single step outside her door.

This made the maids and guards who usually waited on her incredibly nervous.

What big move is the Young City Lord plotting in her heart now?

Could it be that the more than twenty male courtesans in the courtyard still aren't enough??

The next morning, the maid Xing tiptoed carefully into her lady's room.

At a glance, she saw Su Ye sitting at pipeline the side of the bed.

Xing set down the washbasin, a bit surprised.

"Miss, you're awake?"

Ever since yesterday, Miss's mood seemed a little off.

Su Ye sat dejectedly on that white jade-carved large bed, not saying a word.

She'd spent an afternoon and a night proving to herself that she'd really transmigrated into a novel—not just dreaming.

Xing saw her mistress, in disheveled inner garments, slumping listlessly against the bed, looking downcast.

As a maid, it was her duty to cheer up her mistress.

So, Xing piped up softly,

"Miss, are you bored and lonely? How about going to Spring-Welcoming House and picking out someone to serve you?"

As soon as the words fell, she saw the usually downcast Su Ye finally look up, her dark eyes fixing on Xing.

"Spring-Welcoming House?"

Xing noticed her mistress had perked up and quickly pressed the advantage,

"Yes! That male courtesan you like hasn't been bought yet. If Miss buys him, even if the eldest miss wants him, there's nothing she can do."

Listening to Xing's suggestion, Su Ye recalled that prissy male prostitute from yesterday, and instantly fell silent.

Seeing Su Ye say nothing, Xing hurried to add,

"If Miss still feels bored, you could go horse riding and hunting, show off a bit of your 'feminine prowess.'"

Hearing this cheerful little maid, Su Ye pondered it over.

Show off her 'feminine prowess'? Not interested.

Going to Spring-Welcoming House to admire handsome men… actually sounded pretty good; after all, there must be plenty of talented men there.

Just as she was thinking this, she reached out to the wall, getting ready to stand up.

Then, crack—a loud snap.

A chunk of the wall caved in, leaving behind a five-fingered handprint.

She'd been transmigrated into this body for a day now, but still hadn't quite gotten the hang of its strength.

In this state, where a single punch could kill someone, going to Spring-Welcoming House might not be the best idea.

So, the words about going to Spring-Welcoming House stuck in Su Ye's throat, and she reluctantly muttered,

"Let's go hunting instead."

Beating a wild animal to death—that still counts as ridding the world of evil, right?

If she ended up breaking their famous male courtesan, she'd only add another crime to her notorious reputation for being tyrannical—wanton killing of human lives.

Xing hastily agreed and set off to make the preparations.

Three two-hour periods later.

The heart of the forest.

Crack—a large tree fell with a thud.

Su Ye, dressed all in white, shook out her wrist.

The thick makeup from yesterday was long gone, revealing a bright, dazzling, and exquisitely featured visage.

The maids and guards serving Su Ye didn't follow her, but waited far away at the edge.

With a single palm strike—crack—a centuries-old great tree toppled before her eyes.

Why on earth had she eaten her fill and decided to write a novel?

Wouldn't it have been nicer to just study her ancient Chinese medicine and be an obedient disciple to her master?

Su Ye let out her 108th sigh of regret.

Of all the books she could transmigrate into, why did it have to be "Evil Emperor"?

That crazed monstrosity she created—she didn't want to meet him at all, okay??

As she was thinking this, she suddenly sensed a strange aura approaching her.

For a moment, she couldn't tell which direction—north, south, east, or west—it was coming from.

Then, as if it were the evening glow itself—a magnificently radiant red robe fell from the sky and landed right on top of her.
