I was pushed out so I realized it was working hours. I happily got in the elevator and as it was about to close a veiny and muscled arm extended itself between the gap to reopen it. I asked them to rest since I need to do something. They followed me anyway. I asked them to rest. Cleo raised her hand to shut me up. I got in the car and drove off. They got in their car and followed me. I asked Tanya to help me lose them and she arranged a traffic jam. I managed to reach the hotel and got dressed in the back of the hotel. I wore a sleeveless and backless red dress. A five inch silver stilettos. Fractal design tattoos got pasted on my skin for my protection. A layer of prosthetic on hand so no one can get my fingerprint. A poison ring and mask to cover my identity and I went out to work. I was ordered to poison a corrupt business. I flipped the ring and removed the stone to expose a needle. I slipped and fell on the person's hand. I made sure to put my weight on it before I apologized in a southern accent. I walked away quietly. I disappeared into the crowd. Then made my way back to the employee's lounge where I changed my outfit and was smuggled out in the laundry bin. The cameras were switched off till I drove away. I saw fifty missed calls. I asked her if she was ok. She asked me where I was. She will come and get me. I explained that I was going to check up on an abuse victim since her husband charged at her with a gun. I heard a man call nine one one in the background. I switched places after I left a sticky note.
I woke up and saw the note. I drove to the address. A patrol car stopped me on the way. The hotel was close to where I was going. He saw me and hesitated before explaining about the murder. I explained that I am doing a welfare check on an abuse victim. He is welcome to join me. He didn't come but another nightshift patrol car came with me. He saw the man trying to kick the door with his boot. He had a gun. The officer called it in as he ran to arrest him. The officer waved me off as I went in to comfort her. She held on to me as I dragged her out of the house and into my car. We drove to a safe house where she will stay till she gets a restraining order. The captain called to ask me how she was. I explained that I am waiting for her calm down so I can take her to the hospital. She was curious why I would move her from a safe house to a hospital. I explained that bruises are forming as I speak. I heard her swearing like a sailor. She hung up and a detective came to ask her a few questions. I called a lawyer who promised to handle the situation so she will have minimal contact with him as she finds a way to block him. I made it to the hospital. Cleo and company were waiting. They looked petrified. I walked past them as I held her hand. She was examined at length. She was jumpy and hyperventilating. I got her back to the safe house and gave her a sedative.
I made it home and took a shower. As I got out they were waiting outside for answers. They wanted to know what it would take for me stay still. I explained that I want the world to feel safe. I am not interested in watching innocent people dying while the guilty walk free. James stared for a moment before he asked me if it is my job. I showed him my badge, "I am a cop. Catching killers is my job. Until I am worm food this is my job" he stared at me weirdly before we went to sleep. The next morning James asked me why I wear a bone mike. I explained that I work with covert operations. I am a reservist. They contact me from time to time. Cleo confirmed that I work with US marshals office. He was curious who I handle. I explained that there are companies who make defected weapon and gears. Persons unknown discovered this and exposed them. They were threatened. Which is why they are hiding. I showed them the reports. He read all of it. Cleo explained that I was married so I was ordered to take a month off. I asked him to collect random gear and come with me. He did as I asked and we drove out of the city. I proved they were defected. When it was time to go home he wanted to drive. I drive my car. He reminded me that my roomie drives it too. I ignored him as we drove home. He spent the next hour calling one person after another. He took the defected stuff and went elsewhere. He didn't say when he was coming. I took a deep breath as I listen to chatter on the bone mike.
I ordered roses and cooked dinner. When he came through the door I gave him a rose, "Welcome home my dear. How was your day?" He took the rose, "Hello dear. My day was miserable. I had to prove the gear was broken and then the higher ranks spent the next hours yelling over the phone. The general says thanks. I am not angry with you. I am angry with the fools who are the reason people are dying." I took off his coat and shoes than sat him down to give him a massage. I rubbed his chest and he stared at me, "No woman I know is like you" I grinned, "I am one of a kind." I spoonfed him dinner and massaged his body till he fell asleep. I turned around to close the door. I saw my roomies smiling. They were very happy for us. I wished them goodnight and went to sleep. The next morning I woke up before him and made him breakfast in bed. I kissed him till he woke up and fed him. He ate without a word and he went to take a shower while I laid out his clothes. He got changed and made me breakfast. Jason was curious why he wasn't eating. When James explained he laughed, "I wish my girlfriend made me breakfast in bed" James had to stop by the office for something. He promised to keep mey identity anonymous. I got dressed and went for a drive. I found a Sri Lankan restaurant and booked a table for lunch. I went to the governor's mansion and collected Auntie. We had a spa date and stopped by the Sri Lankan restaurant.
Afterwards I drove her home. I received a new earpiece. Then I decided to play a game of randomizer. Where I just take a route I have not taken to see what I can discover. Tanya sent me a drone to use instead. So I tied a shopping bag to the bottom so it would like it was a delivery drone. I flew it to little Italy and had a look around. Cleo showed her the video of my dad torturing me so she went through the old nine one one calls. She extended an apology and asked me to take some time off since I am married. My work isn't going anywhere. As I walked out the other officers nod their heads to say have a great vacation. I got in the car and drove home. Husband was waiting and I greeted him with flowers. He was amused, "Men give women flowers." I grinned, "I give my man flowers. This is my way of saying they hold a special place my heart." He took the flowers with a look of gratitude.
