The Wynter Nine looked like they had been patiently waiting for an explanation.
But then the look they saw on the king and the crown prince's face was just one that had them knowing that something had either gone so wrong and needed to be fixed, or everything had gone just as had been planned.
Which raised even more questions.
"Please don't say it was Ulrike's idea," a tired Zelina said once the portal closed and her husband stiffened before crossing the room to where Zaire and Ferhat were standing.
It was as if that was his first instinct, which made this whole thing a circus with endless clowns. Funny how they always found ways to pass their days like it was nothing.
"I didn't know it would work that fast!" Ulrike defended as if his life depended on all of this.
And maybe it did because he was sure his wife would make him sleep in the dog house again. That place was the worst, and he hoped she would be kinder to him.
