Grant didn't care about the eyes on them. He wasn't even thinking straight. His entire world had narrowed to him and his dead friend, the same friend who was so lost and would never come back.
Grant had faith, even if it was in the amount of nothing he had gotten from Alanor over the years.
"Someone… anyone… Please," Grant whispered like a prayer.
"Grant…" King Cassius said softly, trying to get through to his broken warrior. He had never seen the man like this, and gods, it was tempting to lean down and hold him. To beg Alanor on his behalf to bring his friend back to life.
To give the man the one thing that he needed.
But the memory of a ruined Nour covered in ashes and Grant's release was something that would never get out of the king's memory. It didn't matter how long it took or even how hard everything seemed to be for the man.
