Staring at the dying crowd, Nour knew that things would never be the same. It was a reality that was staring at him, one that he knew he would have to come to terms with the moment the midnight moon gave him his brother's ex-mate to be his.
It was a chance that he never wanted and as he stared at everyone leaving, while his mate wasn't even anywhere near him Nour cursed the moon for making this a reality.
He had never once coveted what his brother had, and yet right now, he was going to have to deal with the scraps of what was left of Alanor's disappearance.
The fact that he couldn't even be mad at his brother or the damn mate bond was making him feel like his world was coming apart.
He hated this, and wanted to leave.
