Chapter 102 - | Beyond the Pages & The Author's Reality

Minty: "That actually brings us to an incredible angle that most readers never get to think about. While you were living through all those challenges, plots, and emotional hurdles inside Love Yourself: Wonder, Iboni was out here in the real world navigating her own life, growth, and learning as a writer."

Minty: "So, Yeonae, my main question for Part 2 is: While you were going through your journey on the page, did you ever stop to think about what was happening to Iboni outside the book? Did you feel connected to her real-world struggles, or did she just feel like a distant force pulling the strings?"

Yeonae: "Mwo?"

Minty: "Well, since you know that your story was her first work to be published, do you ever wonder what was Iboni's inspiration in making you go through the things that you went through?"

Yeonae: "I… I don't… naneun… I was so caught up on my own hardships. I don't know…"

[A quiet, reflective hush falls over the studio. The soft, warm lighting catches the gentle expression on Minty's face as she nods with complete empathy, leaning in a little closer.]

Minty: "And that is so completely understandable, Yeonae. When you're in the middle of your own storm, it's almost impossible to look beyond it. You were just trying to survive the path laid out for you."

[Minty offers a warm, reassuring smile, picking up her note card.]

Minty: "Since you were so consumed by your own survival and hardships in that moment, looking back on it now with some distance—does it make you curious at all about what kind of place Iboni was in emotionally when she wrote your story?"

Yeonae: "Ne… writers… US writers often tend to write what we were going through. That often became our inspiration… I feel bad now, Minty."

[A gentle, collective "Awww" echoes softly through the studio. The audience looks at Yeonae with immense warmth and sympathy, touched by her sudden realization and empathy.]

Minty: "Oh, Yeonae, please don't feel bad!"

[Minty reaches across the small space between them, offering a comforting, reassuring smile.]

Minty: "You hit the nail right on the head—writers project so much of their own raw emotion, healing, and personal battles into their first creations. But you were just living the life she handed you! You didn't do anything wrong."

[Minty tilts her head thoughtfully, tapping her chin with her pen.]

Minty: "Now that you realize she might have been pouring her own real-life struggles into your character, do you feel like that creates a special, unspoken bond between you and Iboni, despite all the chaos she put you through?"

Yeonae: "If… if she really did pour out to us what she been going through… then that also means… my resilience… also came FROM HER. Nae mal-eun… I am her creation… then that means… I am a part of her. [Places her hand on her chest as she looks at Minty with so much empathy]"

[A soft, collective gasp ripples through the audience, followed by a quiet, heartfelt quietness across the set. A few audience members visibly press their hands to their hearts, deeply moved by the emotional revelation. Minty's eyes soften completely, a sweet, proud smile blooming on her face.]

Minty: "Oh, Yeonae... wow. That was breathtakingly beautiful."

[Minty places her own hand over her heart in unison, her voice dropping to a warm, gentle tone.]

Minty: "You just hit on the most beautiful truth of storytelling. A creator leaves pieces of their soul in their characters—and your resilience? That was Iboni's strength shining straight through you."

[Minty pauses for a beat, letting that emotional moment breathe before softly asking the next question.]

Minty: "Realizing that you carry a piece of her real-world strength inside you... does that change how you view all those painful, complicated obstacles she wrote into your story?"

Yeonae: "Jogeum. But I still want to hear the reason why. Just because she made me strong doesn't mean that it didn't left a scar on me. Especially when a namja like Jihun is obsessed with me and gets away with it. That scarred me… that scarred me…"

[The studio goes completely quiet. The audience looks on with soft, heavy sympathy, completely moved by Yeonae's raw honesty. Minty nods slowly, her demeanor deeply respectful and validating as she listens.]

Minty: "That is so valid, Yeonae. Strength and scars go hand in hand, and acknowledging those scars is part of honoring your real experience. Trauma doesn't just disappear because it built resilience, especially with someone like Jihun involved."

[Minty takes a moment, keeping her tone soft and empathetic.]

Minty: "When you talk about those deep scars left behind by someone like Jihun... if you could ask Iboni for one piece of closure about why she let his obsession go as far as it did, what closure would you need to finally heal from that?"

Yeonae: "Moleugess-eo… [shook her head]. When… when it passed… it… [makes face and gestures with her hands, trying to find the right words]. Many years have already passed… since the day that she completed our story… Jihun stopped. And… geuligo… I never saw him again. No apologies. No goodbyes. No closure. But all throughout those years… I still felt someone was following me. Someone's watching. I don't know… I… I don't know…"

[An eerie silence settles over the studio set. A few audience members exchange wide-eyed, uneasy glances, genuinely chilled by Yeonae's chillingly raw confession. Minty's posture shifts instantly from warm host to protective, grounded support, her eyes filled with deep empathy.]

Minty: "Oh, Yeonae... living with that lingering phantom feeling—that shadow hanging over you even after the story's last page was turned—that is a heavy, unsettling weight to carry."

[Minty reaches out, gently placing a hand near Yeonae's arm to ground her in the bright, safe reality of the studio.]

Minty: "The worst kind of ending is the one without a proper goodbye or resolution, because the fear just lingers in the quiet moments."

Minty: "Do you feel like that feeling of still being watched... is actually Jihun's lingering presence, or is it the strange sensation of us, the readers and Iboni, still looking back at your story through the pages?"

Yeonae: "I… I'm not sure… but it still makes me scared, Minty. It is scary… [holds onto Minty's hand]"

[The studio atmosphere grows completely tender. Minty immediately wraps both of her hands around Yeonae's, squeezing tightly to anchor her in the warm, bright reality of the set. The audience watches in empathetic silence, many pressing their hands to their chests.]

Minty:[Softly, with unwavering warmth] "I'm right here with you, Yeonae. You are safe right here, right now, in this studio. The readers love you, but your safety and peace of mind matter most."

[Minty gives her hand one more gentle, reassuring squeeze before letting go slowly, keeping her eyes fixed on Yeonae with deep care.]

Minty: "Since that fear has lingered for so long in the quiet moments outside the book... if you could set one firm boundary with Iboni right now about how she handles your story going forward, what boundary would you set to finally protect your peace?"

Yeonae: "[Shook her head] Please, no more invading my personal space. [hugs herself while looking down the floor]"

[The studio drops into absolute, quiet reverence. Minty instantly picks up on Yeonae's body language—the trembling, the posture, the deep vulnerability. She gently reaches over, signaling with a quick, soft gesture to the stage manager.]

Minty:[Softly, gesturing to the crew] "Let's hold the studio lights for a second, please. Warm ambient only."

[The overhead lights dim to a gentle, golden glow, softening the room completely. Minty scoots her armchair slightly closer to Yeonae, placing a calm, grounding hand lightly on her shoulder while giving her space to breathe.]

Minty:[Voice dropping to a tender, soothing whisper] "Hey... look at me, Yeonae. You are in total control here. You don't have to push through anything that hurts, and your peace comes before any show."

[Minty hands her a glass of fresh water, waiting until Yeonae takes a slow breath.]

Minty: "We've been diving into some really heavy, personal territory, and I can see how much weight you've been carrying. Do you want to take a break, or even stop here for today—or do you feel ready and comfortable enough to move on to the next part when you're ready? Whatever you decide, we are 100% behind you."

Yeonae: "Can… can we wrap it up here for today? I'll... I'll reach out to you with my manager when I feel more stable to talk about it… [still hugging herself]"

[The audience remains completely still and supportive, a collective wave of quiet sympathy flowing toward the stage. Minty immediately nods, her expression full of absolute warmth, respect, and zero hesitation.]

Minty: "Say no more, Yeonae. Absolutely. Your well-being and safety come before anything else—always."

[Minty gently wraps an arm around Yeonae's shoulders, giving her a reassuring, grounding squeeze as she looks directly into the camera with a calm, gentle smile.]

Minty: "To everyone watching at home and here in our studio: healing isn't a linear process, and stepping back when things get heavy takes true courage. Give it up one more time for the brave, resilient, and incredible Yeonae!"

[The audience breaks into a soft, deeply supportive, and warm round of applause. People are smiling encouragingly at Yeonae, giving her thumbs-up and gentle nods of respect.]

Minty: "We are going to wrap up Episode 4 right here today. Take all the time you need, Yeonae. Whenever you're ready to share the rest of your story, our doors—and our couches—will always be open for you."

[The camera slowly begins to pull back as the studio lighting dims to a cozy twilight hue.]

Minty: "Until next time, everyone—be kind to yourselves, honor your boundaries, and take care of your hearts. Goodnight!"

(Cue soft, gentle acoustic exit music as the screen fades to warm golden light)
