…God he looked like a stereotypical evil king too.
"Now that's just sad." I shook my head.
Weirdly, there was a small empty throne placed right in front of the statue on its throne.
Did that mean he sat on the little throne while that giant stone version of him loomed over everything on its own throne?
What an ego this dude had, and that's coming from me of all people!
I eyed the throne thoughtfully, "…It's made of stone, but it looks really well done." I hummed, looking it over.
Plus those jewels.
It was wide, with a high back arch. The back rest of it delicately carved with a roaring Charizard head inscribed within the stone. And there was a head sized ruby sitting at the very top of the back arch, with two fist sized ones a the front of the arm rests.
I've no idea why they weren't stolen either though….
Nor did I care.
A beat.
"Hey Rotom, could you store that throne within your storage space?" I asked, "Just…for reference."
Look, that guy didn't deserve a throne.
And maybe I didn't either. But like, finders keepers losers weepers. And I'm a better person than him.
Right?
Okay look, I just like the idea of being able to summon a grand throne and sitting atop it at a moments notice. It was a power move.
Also badass!
And it had a Charizard on it!
Absolute cunt the evil king might have been, and ugly as sin. But, he had decent taste.
"I can yes." Rotom replied, and didn't judge.
He was an electrical ghost spaz after all, he wouldn't give a lick about an ancient ruin like this.
"Alright…cool," I nodded, before walking over and placing my hand on the throne, "Store this throne please buddy."
"Acknowledged." Rotom replied.
And a moment later, the throne was slurped up inside the gauntlet like a big wet noodle.
With that taken care of, I looked around, "Regice should be behind some kind of wall puzzle." I said aloud, holding my hand out and shining the light from my gauntlet around the room.
A moment later, I found it. On the far side of the room.
"There you are." I grinned and made my way over, looking upon it. It was almost akin to a jigsaw puzzle, made up of twelve stone slabs. Three in a row with four rows in total.
They weren't images, but rather each one was inscribed with some sort of language I had no experience with at all.
Alas, I am not a geniur nor an intelligent well learned pokemon archaeologist like Brandon.
What I am though, is a meat head.
And a bit of a thug.
That was why, I brought out Golem and pointed at the wall, "Smash through that wall will you buddy?" I smirked, before ordering, "Brick Break."
"Gol!" Golem grinned back, before saluting me-
And then he turned and leapt towards, one arm lighting up with bright power, before he brought it down upon the wall.
The wall shattered like paper mache from the force of the blow, debris going flying as Golem carved straight through the puzzle and wall in one blow.
Stepping in with Golem at my side, I shined my light upon the room, and my smirk widened, "Not hard at all to find, were you?" I said.
Because there it was. A huge humanoid shaped beast, made of shining blue crystalline ice, standing stock still and sentry at the top of a huge set of stairs, while behind it lay a huge chest of some form.
Treasure maybe?
Did the evil king leave Regice here to guard his treasure? What a moron, Regice was the real treasure!
A vibrating humming nose came from Regice a second later, dot yellow eyes lighting up brightly-
"Flamethrower!" I commanded Golem quickly.
And not even hesitating, Golem opened his mouth and unleashed a mighty bevy of flame that converged over the legendary ice type.
"Get up there with Brick Break, get in close!" I continued before Golem even finished using his Flamethrower attack.
Hearing my words, Golem began to run forward, not letting up on his flamethrower attack at all-
Before cutting it off at the base of stairs as he leapt into the air, arm once again glowing with the power of Brick Break.
The flames died away to reveal Regice no worse for wear, standing in the same spot. And as Golem came down like a destroying meteor to drive his Brick Break attack into the top of its head, Regice simply lifted one arm and caught the blow, easily stopping it and holding Golem aloft.
It began to glow, ice particles forming around it, forming into a truly massive orb of crackling freezing energy in front of it. The sheer size and speed it was formed at, was incredible.
But-
"Explosion!" I shouted.
I saw Golem smirk as his body immediately began to glow bright white, and then…
*Crackaboom*!
The entire mausoleum shook like an earthquake was rumbling through the mountainside it was atop, the world going white and all sound being drowned out as Golem detonated himself.
When the world stopped shaking and returned to normal, it was to reveal the entire staircase had been blown away, alongside the treasure chest.
It was lucky I ducked behind the wall made at the 'entrance' of the room or I'd have gotten caught up in it as well.
All over the floor I saw sparkling golden coins, jewel encrusted rings, necklaces and more. Massive gems of varying colours spread all around.
Golem, having fallen unconscious was sizzling from the explosion he unleashed, and Regice?
Regice was covered in burn marks and body smoking, smashed halfway into the wall. I wasted no time, fingers forming into a pistol shape, "Thunder Wave!" I shouted, and a thin crackling bolt of blue leapt from my fingers and washed over Regice, paralysing it.
Electricity crackled over its form as its arms that were reaching up to pull itself out of the wall, slowed noticeably.
And I wasted no time, recalling Golem and getting the pokeball of one of my newest captures, and the one inspired by Lance, "Let's go Exeggutor!" I released my grass and psychic type.
I made sure to let him out of his pokeball far ahead of me, so he was very close to Regice.
Practically point blank, "Middle Sleep Powder, left Poison Powder, right Leech Seed!" I quickly ordered.
"Exeg!"
New to the squad or not, Exeggutor was quick on the ball. Two of his heads opened their mouths, and twin clouds of spores erupted, one a venomous purple, the other a sparkling blue.
While the other? Spat out a simple seed.
At point blank, Regice who had just pulled out of the wall had no chance to dodge, and it slumped over asleep a moment later as the sleep powder took effect.
Then its body glowed purple with poison.
And the seed that hit its body, burst apart forming into huge vines that spread all over its body, lighting it up with crimson energy just like that of an Absorb attack as its health began to get drained.
"Now, Explode!" I ordered again, ducking out of the way once more behind the wall at the entrance.
And once more, the world turned white, the sound was drowned out and the mausoleum shook as Exeggutor detonated himself at point blank range, just like Golem before him.
When it was safe, I peeked back in to find Exeggutor laying on his side, out cold like Golem was before, body sizzling.
And laying beside it was Regice. Its huge crystalline body was littered in injuries and burn marks, and the purple glow of poison and crackling red energy being sucked out of it by Leech Seed hadn't stopped at all.
Yeah, it definitely wasn't down yet.
And I'm not giving it a chance to recover. Because I know it can. After all, I know for a fact this Regice knows Rest.
If I give it the chance to, this thing will outlast every pokemon I have.
'Time to finish it off with the big guns.' I thought, recalling Exeggutor and transferring his shining expensive ebony black luxury ball for another, "Let's go, Charizard."
In a burst of bright light, the winged flame tailed behemoth thundered into existence beside me, a roar of challenge erupting from his throat.
I cocked my fist back over my shoulder, winding it up to put all my power into it, "Blast Burn Charizard," I commanded, followed by, "Mach Punch!"
And then both of our fists glowed, and together, we unleashed a pair of devastating punches.
From my fist, leapt a massive ethereal crimson red gauntlet that tore through the air towards Regice, at the same time Charizard smashed his fist through the floor of the mausoleum and the ground rent and split apart, searing orange heat tearing it apart.
The huge fist slammed into Regice, smashing into its body with boulder cratering force.
And then the ground erupted beneath it, in a gigantic explosion of heat and energy that was so powerful, it literally blew a hole straight up through the roof hundreds of feet up.
"Luxury ball me." I said aloud over the loud ringing in my ears from the Blast Burn attack from Charizard.
A shiny black luxury ball was deposited in my palm, and I waited for the debris from Charizard's attack to clear.
And even then, I didn't wait until it did totally.
The second the smoke and debris cleared away enough for me to catch sight of Regice's body, I threw the ball.
The luxury ball bounced off its form, before cracking open, red light escaping it and enveloping Regice's body, before sucking it inside.
It snapped shut, golden middle glowing bright red as the ball hit the ground and began to roll back and forth.
Once!
I lifted my hand, palm wide open, prepared to unleash another attack with Rotom Gauntlet.
Twice!
"Get ready." I ordered Charizard at my side, tensing up.
.
..
…
….
…..
Three times!
….Ping!
I breathed a sigh of relief, shoulders relaxing and arm dropping, "…Well damn…" I uttered, staring blankly at the luxury ball laying innocently within the absolutely ruined room, covered in craters and sizzling burn marks.
Not to mention all the treasure scattered about everything.
"I just caught a legendary." I blinked and noted blankly.
….Huh.
