"Elena, who else is attending to the party?" I asked my secretary as she placed a set of documents on the desk. She took a deep breath, and looked out the window.
"I'll have someone bring the list up to you. I know there will be a couple of foreigners, and mafia leaders of other countries. I know Julian sent a request that he was coming. For her to be that young, many will come out of curiosity." She looked at me with distant eyes then turned around and walked out of my office.
"She has been less active, or less impatient. I wonder if she is okay." I muttered when Beta walked in ten minutes later. He just chuckled seeing me mutter to myself and he pressed the the sound proof button, grabbing my attention immediately.
"She has had a lot of work because of you, but she is also having a hard time with her relationship. I heard he cheated on her, that may explain why she hasn't started a fight with you yet." I raised an eyebrow then took the stack of documents.
"Father is not planning on returning any time soon is he?" I asked looking at the man, he was a dear friend to the whole line of King's. He nodded to my question then motioned me to read the documents before me.
"That is the list you requested. Elena had it printed before I went to her desk, she highlighted the major names for you. Basically if you show interest to the youngster than they will assume she is yours. However that places a target on her, do you want to take that risk?" He said while I skimmed the pages, there were many foreigners, and most of them we mafia leaders or part of ones.
"She's strong, even if they managed to take her, those in this country and the US wouldn't dare hurt her. I doubt Alex would let any of them get close to her, even if she plans to venture the dark world." He looked at me with confusion and continued my explanation.
"She's powerful, like a Luna should be. Out of this list I only see three that a supernatural beings, a dragon, witch, and another wolf Alpha. I won't go out of my way to see her, just enough to appease the beast." He looked at me with distrust, like he didn't believe me.
"She may be strong in your eyes and many others, but to the normal humans, she is just a girl, who is definitely independent, however weak." I was grinding my teeth when he spoke about my mate, and the dangers that she would face from now on.
"Even as a girl, she is strong, I've seen her." I spoke standing up for her.
"That I know, Alpha. I've been with her for a short time, to see. Just be cautious you're not throwing her into a lions den. Humans are different from supernatural for a reason." He stood up and left the room.
"Hmm, I'm aware what she is in the eyes of the humankind. A sacrifice." I spoke then looked outside the huge window, on the top floor.

The day of the party...
"Miss, I can't believe you've grown up so fast. Your Mother would be so proud of you." Maria helped me into my dress, then left to attend to my father. The royal blue shown brightly, with golden details toward the bottom, sparkling when the light hit it. The dress was a v-neck, with an open back dress.
The heels that I paired with it were silver, but three inches tall and about an inch thick. My hair was in a half bun that had a fishtail braid draping below the bun, adding a little more sparkle Ronda placed a elegant gold hair pin that had a wolf howling toward the moon, with a mixture of sapphires and emeralds placed randomly.
"Where did you find this?" I asked as she let me take a look before it was placed on top the bun. she smiled when she saw me pleased with my look and started adding makeup, highlighting my features.
"I stopped by a market and thought this was perfect for your introduction. You should be proud that you take after your family's ancestry. Luna." I turned around when I heard her call me by my title.
"It's beautiful. You also work for Jacob don't you?" I asked as she shook her head, leaving me confused. She finished with the eye shadow then put light lip gloss.
"I work for only you. I pledged to you father that I would be one of your's, never his. And when you say Jacob, do you mean King?" I nodded to her question and she smiled.
"Then, are you mates?" She asked with excitement in her tone and I let of a sigh.
"Not yet, he'll wait for me. I want to know him before I become bound with him. After all I'm still getting used to my beast." She helped we stand up then brushed off any dust on the gown.
"Then show him, that he is yours with your beauty, but also your power, Luna." I smiled lightly before walking toward the door.
"Hey Ronda, what are you?" She smiled and shook her head, she continued to pack her supplies, before she came to stand by me again. Alex was nice enough to allow her to come to the party.
"I'm a witch, you're lucky. Most of my kind don't like Lycans, however I've raised you since you were born." I smiled, it was indeed lucky to have a witch in times like this. There is a probability there will be supernatural at the party, however I was here to enjoy my night, so I will leave that for another day.
When we walked into the ballroom, we had our masks on. Ronda was wearing a red dress that accented her figure and brought her many eyes toward our direction. Her mask was simple like her dress, a dark blood red, with feathers and glitter covering her face.
"Look at you!" I squealed when she blushed then stopped when a man came toward her. He asked for a dance looking toward me for permission taking my friend. I knew Ronda was single, since her relationship ended horribly, but I left her to answer.
"Yes I would love to dance." She smiled at him and I knew I was grinning too, as much as I thought Ronda to be a social butterfly, really she dislike any company except me. However tonight she was happy and willing to put down her wall slightly.
"Have fun!" I whispered as she took a couple steps from me. 'Where is he?' I thought as I looked around the room, many people where here for the start of the ball. Father would make sure to be fashionably late just because that was him, and my brothers were probably on the dance floor by now.
"Madam would you like to dance?" I turned around when I heard the familiar voice, it wasn't the one I wanted, but at least my best friend was here.
Surprisingly last night, was simple like I hoped it would be, after the movie we got a cup of coffee then he took me home. I tried not to be distant with him, during our outing, however many people recognized him than we thought. This caused our outing to be cut short, however it didn't bother me.
"Do you even know the dance style?" I joked as I curtsied then took his hand. He stuck out his chest looking bolder, even with that stance I chuckled.
"Kenzie, I know almost all the dances with how many parties I've attended." I smiled and we fell into step with the others, the dance that was being performed was the Viennese Waltz. Even though we entered late, we became a huge part of the mass of twirls and soft turns.
"I'm surprised you haven't mess up on your foot work." I chuckled when I saw him gracefully shift on the right foot. Him smiled brightly and spun me, many people were impressed that two teenagers were dancing correctly with barely any mistakes.
"It's only because I have a great partner." He spoke back taking my hand again, letting me lean back as he secured me. I smiled to the crowd and we had the light shine bright on us. I felt Jacob's presence as he watched me dance, I knew he was jealous that Jace was holding me, but I took the chance when it happened.
When we had to shift to another partner for a short time, they would mutter something about my dress or how I looked that night, sometimes we talked about something irrelevant until we shifted again.
"Just a while longer, I'm already tired." I spoke as the dance soon came to an end, the dancers curtsied then filed off the stage. I glanced at Eli and Josh who were holding their date's and they gave me a thumbs up.
"Thank you for the dance, my lady." I chuckled and thanked Jace before I walked to the snack table. I knew he was excited he got the first dance with me, and that was enough to send him on his way.
[You're late.] I thought as I looked into his eyes as he watched me from the shadows. He smiled and took my hand and planted a kiss on it. Jacob was wearing a black mask, that was plain. He wore a tux with a white hankie in the pocket. It made him striking, his jaw sharp, and his glimmering teal eyes, it was hard to take your eyes off him.
"Please forgive me, Kenzie" He said sarcastically, except my name, which was full of love. I blushed and took a bite of cake that I was holding.
"You look upset." I commented and he stood up straighter. His eyes were darker just then and I reached out and touched his cheek. "You're jealous." I deadpanned and he became flustered.
"I'm... not..., okay fine I am. He got the first dance." I flicked him on his forehead after his eye color returned to normal.
"'He' is my best friend, be nice." I took another bite of the moist vanilla cake. Watching the new set of dancers present the Waltz. Jacob grabbed a glass of champagne and waited patiently till I gave him my attention.
