When Tessa Caldwell regained consciousness, she vaguely heard sharp voices arguing, her head feeling dizzy, as though those voices were drifting over from a distance.
Neither a dream nor reality.
She saw a girl, loudly accusing the man in front of her: "Chuck, just because you think I like you, does it mean you can treat me like this? Do you think just because I smile every day, it doesn't mean I get angry? If it weren't for the fact that I like you, I wouldn't have wanted to deal with you long ago."
The man asked seriously: "How have I treated you? Don't you know you're afraid of heights, yet you dared to go to the top of the tower with them? I locked you up, and you still wanted to climb out of the window. The bedroom is on the third floor. Aren't you afraid of falling and getting crippled?"
"Then you shouldn't have treated me with silent coldness."
The girl said, and then burst into tears.
