Shawn Morton spoke, looking at Zion Caldwell, hoping that Zion could say something to help.
Zion Caldwell's mind raced for a moment; he knew Tessa Caldwell didn't steal, but he didn't want to help prove her innocence.
He wanted Tessa to be in a predicament, with no help, so that she would ultimately have to turn to him.
With her needing him, she wouldn't dare not to listen to him.
Zion cast a glance at Shawn Morton, then fixed his gaze on Tessa Caldwell: "Just hand over the watch."
Shawn Morton and Tessa Caldwell both widened their eyes, incredulous.
Tessa Caldwell took a deep breath: "I didn't take the watch, what do you want me to hand over?"
"We'll know whether you took it or not by searching you," Ms. Lawson said, turning to the manager beside her, "Have a female attendant search her thoroughly."
Tessa Caldwell was furious: "What right do you have, who do you think you are, to search me just because you want to?"
