One Month Later
Only a month remained before their wedding.
Anna stood outside the restaurant, staring at the familiar glass doors. This was the same place they had chosen together—the place where they once laughed while talking about their future.
Now, it felt different.
Cold.
Heavy.
Ever since the pamamanhikan, neither of them had spoken to each other. No phone calls. No messages. Just... silence.
She took a deep breath before finally stepping inside.
Her eyes immediately found him.
Tom was already there, sitting by the window. He looked as handsome as ever in his neatly pressed office attire. His sleeves were rolled up to his forearms while his attention remained fixed on his phone.
His fingers moved across the screen, and Anna didn't need to guess who he was talking to.
Mildred...
A sharp pain pinched her chest.
She stopped walking.
For a second, she wondered if she should just leave.
Maybe coming here was a mistake.
Maybe facing him was harder than she thought.
