Following the curve of the hallway, Walker found a few very large holes in the walls. He could see a crumbled earthen ground that had once been a training field or maybe a guard's quarters. A place where people would wait and prepare for combat.
It made him wonder if there was a war forward side to these mansions kept within a special storage for the explorer halfling race. Potentially a way for them to explore and wage battles of power without needing to bring forces with them out in the world while they moved.
It would be a terrifying idea that someone could bump in to another and suddenly find themselves facing an army of guards or something else.
It made him remember how the undead city held thousands of undead under the control of the immortal king. If a place like that were in a storage space…
He tried to change that thinking as he looked at the larger set of doors and then at a stairwell that led in to even more darkness.
