"..." Julian Rhodes snorted, disgruntled, "So it's my fault then."
Grandpa saw his gloomy look and started to joke, "What, Scarlett isn't talking to you? Serves you right!"
"Why do I deserve it?" Julian lay there, baffled, feeling like he was a victim too!
Grandpa said, "Who told you not to be nicer to her? Now she doesn't want to talk to you. If you were good to her, she wouldn't despise you so much just for your sake."
"..." Julian listened, unsure of what to say.
Uncle Monroe beside them couldn't help but chuckle.
Julian watched them play another game of chess. Seeing his grandpa getting engrossed, he urged, "Grandpa, go to sleep now. You can play again tomorrow, there's still plenty of time ahead."
Grandpa had just returned from out of town today and should be quite tired.
Though reluctant, Grandpa, being of his age, with Julian watching over him, could only say, "Alright."
