Chapter 1015 - Being Romans

I noticed Ash was taking in the venue with proportionally less shock and awe than I was. Castles and palaces and the likes over the course of the life she lived probably had long numbed her eyes to the hypnotic allure of glimmering chandeliers and million-dollar tapestries. 

Nope, no grappling with a sorta wondrous sense of futility like I was. Like the fact that the courtyard alone was probably triple the size of the whole of my property line just fills my soul with this cosmic unease of the utter scope and scale of everything else around us relative to the reality I was used to living in.

Is there like a correlation of some kind between wealth accumulated and one's sense of self-perception? The more money you own, the bigger you start to feel? All these giant houses in a world of such tiny people… makes you think.
