Chapter 965 - Possibilities

Pokemon POV

"Oh, really? I thought Axel told you not to train on those moves right now. So, what are you doing?"

'Damn it, it knows.', thought Lairon.

It knew that it had been busted. Now, Gandiva was going to tell it to Axel, and it would get a punishment. What was it supposed to do?

Lairon looked at Gandiva, who was staring at it, expecting an answer.

"Ahh, well…. I thought to train in grass-type moves."

"Speak clearly and tell me everything. Otherwise, I might just tell everything to Axel.", said Gandiva with ruthlessness.

Finally, Lairon told everything to Gandiva. How it believed that it would have more success in grass-type moves even though it was a steel-type Pokemon.

Actually, Gandiva didn't even know that Axel had told Lairon to stop training in grass type move. Looking at sneaking Lairon, who was training in grass type moves, it just made a random guess, and it had been right all along.

Gandiva believed that what it lacked right now was a team that would follow it no matter what. Of course, all the Pokemon under Axel were its team members. But after living with them for a long time, it had started to notice something.

There were three generations of Pokemons under Axel. First was the group of Shedinja. Then it was the group of Togekiss, and finally it was their group. It called itself the third generation. The third generation could not win against the second generation, and the second generation could not win against the first.

The difference in their strength was truly vast. But now, the second generation was catching up. Since the time difference between the main world and the fairy realm was 1:50, even if they train here for 4 years, only a month would have passed in the main world.

Gandiva believed that by that time, most of the second generation would reach pseudo-champion rank. Some of them, like Togekiss might even reach champion rank.

So, Gandiva wanted to be the leader of the third generation. The leaders of the first and the second generation were already clear. Shedinja and Togekiss. Even though it was not officially announced, as there was no hierarchy in the team, they commanded their team and everyone followed them.

So, Gandiva was in the process of consolidating its team. Currently, it had none of them under it. Lairon would be a good addition.

"Ok, I will keep this a secret, but you will have to follow me and treat me like a leader." ,said Gandiva.

Lairon immediately agreed to it. It was just a common rank Pokemon and it didn't have a problem following Gandiva. Gandiva was really strong, and Pokemon respect strong ones.

"Also, I don't think that you should train on grass-type moves right now. At least, not until you reach rare rank."

"Rare rank? But that is too far. Why should I not train on it?"

Gandiva perfectly explained the reason for it. A Pokemon should first concentrate on its own typing before it could concentrate on others. This was done to have a solid foundation that would not hinder its possible growth in the future.

Gandiva already knew about this. Its passive move also let it have a good head above its shoulders.

"For now, just focus on steel-type moves. Axel is a very intelligent trainer. If he is saying that you should not train on grass-type moves, then he must have a good reason for it."

"Boss, you said that Venusaur is a very powerful grass type Pokemon. How powerful is it?"

Gandiva gave a long sigh. It didn't even want to think about it. The first generation were really monsters in Pokemon form.

Each of them had their own specialty, and all of them were super powerful. They had their unique personality and also unique talents. Gandiva didn't know how Axel was able to cultivate all of them to such a level.

Shedinja had leadership qualities, but that was not all. It was practically a cheat character. Most of the attacks don't even cause damage, and those that did, it had various ways to block and dodge them. It also had high speed and special attack power.

Charizard was not only a powerful tank, but it was the most powerful physical attacker in Axel's team. Earning this honor was not a joke. Axel's team was filled with monsters.

Gandiva had not seen much of Alakazam, but seeing that all the first generation respected it, it must also be very powerful. Gandiva had also heard that this was the first Pokemon of Axel. So, it was bound to be strong.

Beedrill could command an army, Gyarados also had extremely good mastery in water-type moves and physical attack. Tauros and Absol were a mystery to Gandiva, but it had heard Axel once say that they were so very powerful. Especially Absol. Its mastery over dark-type moves had led to the creation of a unique set of moves.

It had also a rumor that a Tauros had a spirit that could amplify its power to a whole new level. Gandiva didn't even know what a spirit was, but it must be very powerful. Also, Tauros commanded a group of Tauros and Bouffalant.

Nidoking was an all-rounder. It was the first official Pokemon of Axel, and its mastery of poison type core can let it do a variety of things. Gogoat was like a mother to the team. But it had extremely powerful defensive and control abilities. Gandiva didn't know much about Mamoswine and Steelix, as it had not seen them fight properly, but both of them looked very strong.

Pidgeot was the only one that made Gandiva fear. Since it was also a flying type Pokemon, it knew how hard it was to increase and control its speed. But Pidgeot did it so effortlessly. But that was not all. It had very high physical attack, and its speed was one of the best among the first generation.

And finally, there was Venusaur.

As per Gandiva's expert opinion, Venusaur was one the who had the highest potential in the first generation. That guy was practically unkillable. It had so many control moves and healing moves. It could not only heal itself but also heal others, too. But that was not the end of it.

It had very powerful special attacks too, and its ability to control the battlefield was unparalleled.

Yet, that was not why Gandiva considered it to have the highest potential. Axel loved to tell stories of anime and movies from his previous world to them. At one such time, it had heard the story of the ninja world and Hashirama Senju. The god of Shinobi.

There, it learned that Venusaur's training plan was actually devised according to the god of shinobi. If what Axel had told was true, then Venusaur had just touched the tip of the iceberg. If it could really become the second Hashirama Senju, then its power would be unbelievable.

So, when Gandiva told Lairon how powerful Venusaur truly was, it felt that it would never be able to reach that stage. Lairon had never seen the true power of Venusaur.

Staraptor patted its head and said, "Don't worry, we will get there."

"But I am not even a grass-type Pokemon. I wonder if my mutation would allow me to have a grass type."

Then it hit Gandiva all of a sudden, why not?

If Beedrill could have its army, Venusaur could have control over wood, then why can't Lairon have a grass-type power?

It was already going in a very good direction. As per Lairon, it felt more comfortable training on grass-type move than steel-type move. Its mutation also increased its dependency on grass type. So, there is a solid possibility that it could be proficient in grass type in the future.

"Don't worry, I will make sure that you will be the strongest grass type Pokemon in our team in the future."

By saying that, Gandiva flew towards where Axel was sleeping.

Pokemon POV End.

###

Axel was rudely woken up by sharp beaks on his face. He could already tell that it was Staraptor, and even though he knew that Staraptor would not do that unless it was very important, he didn't have the heart to wake up right now.

He was drained from training his body today. He had gone overbroad, thinking that his new body would hold up, but it didn't.

"Ok,, Ok… I am waking up. Just give me a minute.", said Axel and opened his tired eyes.

It took him some time to truly wake up, and then he asked, "So, what is the problem? Why did you wake me up?"

Axel was talking with Staraptor with telepathy. Axel's telepathy was not fully mastered, so he could not talk to Pokemon with lower ranks because they don't have a mature mind. But Staraptor was clearly different due to its passive move.

'I want Lairon to become a grass-type specialist.'

A flood of rage started to consume Axel. Not only had he been disturbed but now he was hearing that a flying type Pokemon wanted a steel/rock type Pokemon to become a grass type specialist?

That was a load of crap. He was ready to berate Staraptor, but then Staraptor started to tell its side of things.

The more he heard it, the more he felt that it was possible.

"Gandiva, you truly are a genius.", said Axel not believing what he had just heard.

What Staraptor said did make sense. First of all, Lairon always said that it felt comfortable training in grass type move, so much so that it had outshone on it.

And due to its mutation, it really might be able to become the first steel/grass type Aggron in this world.

But how could he make sure that such a thing happened? There was only one sure way to do it, and that was upgrading 'Grass field' to stage III.

But that was when he was out of ideas. Because currently, there was no way that Lairon could upgrade its passive move to Stage III. It was just a common rank Pokemon. Upgrading a passive move to Stage II was already a miracle. Stage III was simply not possible for it no matter how magical this realm was.

So, what could he do?

"Since you have this proposal, you must have a solution for it, right?", asked Axel.

'Yes. Why don't we just let it train in grass type move and let it learn some new moves, upgrade its existing moves, and help it create a new grass type move? With this, its mastery over grass type move would be clearly higher than its rock type move and with its mutation, there is a strong chance that it might be steel/ grass type Pokemon in the future.'
